          Hey BB and Oney!

Nice to see a bit of leg BB!
Saph, will let you know how i go at AA meeting. Most likely will catch a lunchtime one today. Have been to 2 only in my af time, and i'm sort of of the feeling it's not really for me, but, the more ammo the better, of course. The Bridge program sounds great. Do they slap you around like that other Bridge program further north? :H

          Have a beeeauwdiful day.

No Mr. G. The Bridge Program is a very low-key, but professional set-up....I go when I feel like it...it follows the principles of the SMART program that was put together in the U.S. to get folk in jail off the turps and drugs. They had so much success with those guys, that the Salvos have picked up on it and modified it for the general population. I really enjoy the science they get into and they dont have a religious agenda. Whats this one from up north?

Your bac post makes sense to me, even though i haven't taken bac, or the other med's. I think we've got to bite the bullet at some stage, and simply say NO, and decide to leave the booze, and associated trauma behind. No but's, no um's or ah's, just NO more, go with yer plan, and onward and upward. Is this easy? NO!, but it will get easier once we make the choice. There are NO negatives in being sober. There is NO whinging, trivia is left to fall by the wayside as we go forth proudly with far bigger fesh to fry. Scary? YES!, but not as scary as the day to day, minute to minute life of an anxiety ridden, depressed, self centred addict, who loves drinking more, and respect's their local bottleshop's more, than themselves, or anyone else.
Yep Reggie and Geester, I'm with you on this thinking....I have been spending a bit of time on the Topa thread and it does seem like a lot of the folk are waiting for the magical button to switch off their cravings. When I started on topa, there was no way I could have been drinking on it and somehow relying on that small pill everyday to get me off the stuff. For a start, if I had been drinking whilst taking a new mind altering substance, how would I be sure of A. If it was working, and B. Monitor the side effects of the drug. As it turned out, after 6 weeks and al free, I couldnt stand the side effects...not to say that I am down on the drug....it just did not work for me. The side effects and drinking would have been horrendous. I agree, there are no negative in being sober...none at all...and depends on the level of addiction for a lot us that is the only choice.....I will add that when I read Roberta Jewells book, she didnt seem to have the kind of uncontrolled huge consumption that I had.....so it is different strokes for different folks. For me is has to abstinence......jsut my opinion

                    The Bridge Programme :H

The Northern Bridge Programme is a bit of a different one Sapph.
It's were they make you go AF for a long period of time until you feel really good.
Then they send someone around with a bottle of bubbles, and the two of you get pissed, call your ex boyfriends and send lewd emails at 2am.
Then you get to start all over again.:H:H:H
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
