Army Thread 1st December
Is it that all the teachers have turned up.
There was all hell to pay last year when all the kids turned up for school and only half the teachers(some that lived in walking distance) and they had to close the school because of health and safety
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Army Thread 1st December
Back when I was going to public school in Canada, our school rarely got closed. It would have had to dump a lot of snow for them to close the school. Generally the road graders would be out as soon as it started to snow and keep the roads as clear of snow as possible and of course they would sand and salt the roads. The biggest problem was having to shovel out the pile of snow the grader left at the end of the driveway. I can remember mornings when we'd gotten 6 inches of snow overnight and had to shovel our way out of the house. And we walked to school most mornings and some days it was bitter cold. It was just part of living in a cold climate. Lots of snow-ball fights at school and making snow angels...one2many;1014143 wrote: I dunno Stirls, one is about a mile away and and the other is at the top of the road......

Jackie, we got very cold winters back then. Different than they are now. Especially the months of January and February, the temps could go down as low as -17 to -25C and stay there for a month!! I could never live in that kind of climate again. Back home winters are a bit milder the last few years but they still can get tons of snow and really low temps. Brr... gives me shivers just to think of it.
Gotta go out for supplies. Catch up with youz laterz. Hope you all have a great day!!For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Good Morning.
I'm feeling crap this morning, but I'm gonna load up on Lem-sips and Vino's and get on with it.
They shut the schools yesterday at noon here, which I can imagine upset a lot of parents who got their kids in and then had to change plans. It seems to me that the teachers are just making sure they're alright, and hang the rest.
Anyhoo, it doesn't effect us. It's been a long time since we had any kids at school.

Hey all - running late this morning - actually slept until the alarm! Like a monsoon here in Philly right now. That's always fun getting 3 kids to different schools in this weather! At least it's not snow yet, right? lol
Hope everyone has a wonderful morning and talk in a while!
