Define extreme?Recluse;1050070 wrote: Evening all,
Hi Mr Tips - I wanted to ask you what's the security situation like in South Africa at the moment? Have been thinking about emigrating to somewhere a bit warmer than the UK. Are there places in SA that are comparatively safe and where the climate isn't too extreme?
Where we live the security is good enough... Cape Town and surrounds are OK, as long as you avoid slum areas.I'll do whatever it takes

I'd definitely call 36C extreme. Wouldn't want to be anywhere where it is regularly over 28ish. Must have Internet access, of course. Not looking to live in a city though - rural areas only.tiptronic_ct;1050077 wrote: Define extreme?

Mmmmmmm... that's a tough ask in SA, I'm afraid. If you choose a coastal town like Hermanus / Onrus / Kleinmond, you could get quite close, although summmer temps in Feb will likely be higher than 28 some days. Move inland in any area of SA, and you're going to feel the heat. There is already a 5 - 6C difference between Cape Town and Stellenbosch (where I live), 60km away.Recluse;1050082 wrote: I'd definitely call 36C extreme. Internet access is widely available, but expensive. I pay about 30 Pounds (ZAR300 - very roughly speaking) for 3GB of bandwidth per month.I'll do whatever it takes
