Once upon a time when we were just a couple we had three black uns, Winken Blinken and Nod. Those were the days. Gave cartons of eggs away and the quality, well, you know.

This morning there are NO eggs to poach so I am a bit peeved.

no I just heard about my girls via grape vine ....you can go to RSPCA yes, or 'downsizing' chicken farms

They usually moult during autumn, and go off the lay at the same time. Apparently you can expect about 220 eggs per year.
