    Army Thread Monday 13th June

Loads, Zens. Been a sleep all afternoon.

Was feeling a bit teary and sorry for meself then I got a text from a very good friend to say she was on her way to A & E as her daughter was worse the wear from booze. That was about 12.30 this afternoon. Been clutching me phone all afternoon.

The daughters only 21 and sounds in a bit of a state, there's actually been some bed wetting incidents after a session and my friend is at a loss with what to say to her.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

I'm just waiting to hear back from her.

Hard to believe but they are very few and far between programs over here unless you have a mass of ???? which her mother doesn't have. Mind one or two come to mind but they've got hideous waiting lists, but of course she has to ask for the help.

I'll give my luvverly old key worker Stephen.

Anyhoo... I'm orf to the gym now but will be back in a wee bit if anyone's around.
Try slices of mango in the bottom of a shallow dish. Then top with plain yogurt and sprinkle a little soft brown sugar on top. Cover and place in fridge for 45mins. Devour hungrily.

                        Hiya, Mrs. A :hallo:

Wowsers, JC - I'm proud of you! I'm sure you can do it if you set your mind to it.

I did that 10km walk last year and it was OK, but I'd be dead if I had to run it.

                                :hallo: Troopers.

Just a few comments after quickly reading back over the posts....

Mario, thank you once again for a very helpful post about self-acceptance. It is something we have to remember and practice at every stage. Learning to love ourselves in spite of our faults and our downfalls. We are who we are. We got where we are and became who we are on our journey through life. Through our personal experiences and through influences from others, we learned both good and bad lessons and good and bad habits along the way. That doesn't mean we are bad people or failures or damaged goods. It means each and every one of us is unique in our own way. We all have that strength within us to get us through this journey as positively as we can. There are good habits to be adopted and new and better parts of ourselves to be discovered. Thank you for again giving us something to sit back and think about. And may we all love ourselves just a little bit more every day.

Reccie - I am so happy for you that you will be getting the means to help you to live a more "normal" life. I especially like the telephone. That, my dear Panda, ROCKS.!!!

Jackie - it sounds like you're feeling a bit better now. Keep up with the vits and the supps...:huggy

Molly, so glad you didn't get transferred to that hole in the mud. :dancin:

Zennie-butt and Mr. Tips. I have ever only bought a mango twice. And couldn't figure out either time the excitement over them. Both times they were rather bland in flavour although quite juicy. Kind of like prickly-pear cactus. Pricked my fingers picking the feckers off the tree and even tho' I put them on ice like I'd seen in a video, the taste was strange. A cross between a melon and a pear and a grape or something. No really defining taste... I'll take any of the above fruit with yoghurt and brown sugar except the mangoes and the fecking prickly thingeys....

Jackie - last but not least, my thoughts and prayers are with your friend and her daughter. Kids just don't realize how dangerous AL is. One of my best friends in college had AL poisoning. They found her passed out by the side of the road and luckily got her to the hospital in time. She was just a whisper away from blindness due to AL...

Sorry if I've dampened the mood a bit but just wanted to express my thoughts...

Oh and best of luck with Slimming World. Could do with a bit of it myself...:sulk:
