Now ..... let's not under rate the shoveling of shit. It is hideous at first, smelly and heinous, but then you mix it in with your other organics, pop it into a raised bed situation, and it starts to look wholesome ...:h.tomorrow I get to go out and buy spring seedlings from a place that I've discovered recently.....ancient Italian couple who just dig yer seedlings up and hand em to ya in newspaper...usually throw in Dog knows what....you know the Italian spirit...:h give you an atomic hit of expresso ......and yer on yer way............tawnyfrog;1174837 wrote: not shit as in Bridge's case - but lovely bark and leaf litter.

Love the smell of leaf litter, and what they look like when everything but the leaf veins have composted.Rags;1174766 wrote: Cabbage juice. I remember doing that about 30 years ago.

Anyway ... skipping off now. I've had a top day shovelling - not shit as in Bridge's case - but lovely bark and leaf litter.
I had the most amazing day today!! It felt like a "good karma gets returned" day. I went to Auckland, and as I was getting on the plane, I realised the woman in front of me in the queue was a good friend who I haven't caught up with for ages as we have both been really busy, so we managed to change our seats to be able to sit together and had an absolutely hilarious time. At the other end she said that she wanted to introduce me to a new colleague, who turned out to be someone that I also knew many moons ago. Then the work I was doing up there went incredibly well. The young women who I have been working with have been getting rave reviews from their supervisers for the improvements in their attitudes and work performance, and it is very heartening. And Auckland was buzzing with World Cup fever ......... the place I was working in has lots of Tongan employees, and Tonga is playing the All Blacks in the first pool match tomorrow night, and Tongans are very enthusiastic people, so the whole suburb was decked out in red and white.

And to cap it all off, when I got back to the airport, I found an unattended bag which contained a healthy supply of Butlers Chocolate (ask KTAB about this one!!!) .... which I turned into Lost and Found, and they told me to take it home with me!!! And a new Tess Gerritson book at the bookshop.
4 emails, 1 report and 1 training session to go .........Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

... and *** waving*** to the joy germs, Kaza and Lilly - how's the re-covering coming along?
Sunny - been thinking about about your dog story. I used to travel a lot and had to put dogs into kennels for up to a week. Always HATED it, not because the kennels were dirty or the owners nasty. It was because there were no couches. No armchairs. No beds. :upset:
