THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

I like the idea of the butterfly too... but I am not sure it would remind me of freedom; I could get talked into it but would add some little touch to symbolize freedom. I guess the ability to flit from flower to flower is pretty freeing.. so What the Hell ..

    Another drinkless night.

Absolutely NO WAY I'm getting a tattoo! You peeps are obviously younger than me (wrinkles, wrinkles)! I'll listen to the Rolling Stones' Tattoo You, instead!

Juja, I'm older than you, I bet. I like the butterfly idea too, but is it super common these days? I'm not saying we'll do this one but isn't it cool?

I love it!! Couldn't we have the cage and the birdie on the same wrist. This is my first tattoo and I am the last of almost everyone I know to get one. That goes to show what my neighborhood is like LOL..

You know I really like the bird flying away... We have some time to choose one, but we should choose a date.. I am getting excited.

Tips, I really like this tattoo also (both of them). I would prefer one on each wrist like she has it. I don't have any tattoos either but for something this big in my life, I would love to have it symbolized and permanent!

I would like the cage facing ME not facing away if you see what I mean. So when I put my hand up in front of me the cage is not upside down. I am in. I love the concept of freeing myself from the prison of alcohol addiction. Yay.. who's in?????

No, just felt a connection with you and wondered where on our planet you hung out. I live in Canada close to our capital Ottawa. I live on the other side of the provincial border in the province of Quebec in a little cottage by a river. Just wondering about you.. I think I found a recommended tattoo artist close by. I am seriously getting one within a week.

I told my weekend binger adult son I was quitting and told him about this site and the book and he is interested. I was pleased as he is very defensive and private about his drinking habits. Very happy about that turn of events.

I'm with Juja on this! No tattoo for me, and I am also 55, so how weird is that? I do think that Unwasted and Tipplerette need to take pictures when they get these and post them here for us!

OK, ladies, now you're making me feel crazy for wanting to get one since I'm the oldest of the group.

Tips, wish we lived closer - we could meet for coffee! I live in Texas, but I PROMISE I'm an a-typical non-redneck person! And, I dislike George Bush with the white hot heat of a thousand suns (just to help prove I'm not a typical Texan). There really are some decent people here but I realize that the stereotype of Texans is very negative. Sometimes I'm embarassed to say I'm from Texas and sometimes when traveling in Europe I feel embarassed to say I'm from America because we're so disliked everywhere. We're not all like the portrayal of us on television, I promise.

THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Hi girls, just spent ages writing here and computer went down - damn!!!
Anyway, see the tattoo is still on the go - I'm still in. I don't think it matters what age you are - can't wait to see my lot's faces when I get home with mine.

                                I'm still stuck on the butterfly - been doing a lot of reading on what it symbolizes in different cultures and I feel this is the one for me;

'Like the butterfly we are all on a journey. On this journey we encounter endless turns, shifts and conditions that cause us to metamorphasize. All change is good - even if it may not seem so at the time. Change is what life is made of and it is necessary to grow and learn. All our journeys end and we are inevitably transformed - not at all the same as when we started on the path.'

In Greek myth, Psyche (which literally translates as 'soul') is represented by the butterfly.

Proverb: just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.

TW, I am 46 and no tattoos ....... so far. Aaaaaaaaaaagh!!!
IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN
