THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Daisy, I love butterflies but it just seems like you see a lot of them. Tips, what do you think? And, do we all need to have the same one? I think that would be really cool, but each person has it forever, so they really need to like it, right? I'll keep looking. Maybe we can still find something everyone likes. If not, we could consider just doing our own thing???

    Thoughts?

Unwasted, I'm still open to suggestion; it would be brilliant if we could find one that everyone likes but if not, and we all do different ones, we could have one tiny addition to each to signify 'us'.
I'm going to check out today how to put pics on here so that I can contribute....bear with me........might have to come back for help.

Beagle, we're thinking the tattoo needs to be on the wrist or hand so that every time you lift your arm to drink, you'll see it. No competition with your butt mole.:H

THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

My copy had been delivered to my front porch when I got home from work last night. I didn't have a minute to even crack it open, but can't wait to get started today.

Good luck with the tattoos. I won't be joining in, no tattoo for me. But keep us posted on the tattoo you decide on and take pictures. Back to Kick the Drink..... Has anyone who has posted on this thread received their books in the mail yet? If you have started reading, what are your thoughts so far, positive or negative?

Tips, wish we lived closer - we could meet for coffee! I live in Texas, but I PROMISE I'm an a-typical non-redneck person! And, I dislike George Bush with the white hot heat of a thousand suns (just to help prove I'm not a typical Texan). There really are some decent people here but I realize that the stereotype of Texans is very negative. Sometimes I'm embarassed to say I'm from Texas and sometimes when traveling in Europe I feel embarassed to say I'm from America because we're so disliked everywhere. We're not all like the portrayal of us on television, I promise.
Hey Unwasted, Texan or not; you are a cool person. I spent time in Texas last summer as we went on a cross country tour with our motor home and Harley. We were on our way to Sturgis South Dakota for the rally. Like you said all the Texans we met had very different political views to what I found was sensible but if you dislike George Bush we're on the same page. I have met some amazing Americans in my travels. Nobody should be labelled by the actions of their government. Even if you were a flaming Republican, we're not here for politics, are we? I would never judge a person by the country he/she is from.

But more about the book, just a follow up to say i am open to new ideas about the tattoo; very open. I would like something about the tattoo to be alike but don't mind if they're not all the same. As much as I love butterflies, they are common. I would be happy to have a butterfly with some sort of representation of our Freedom from Alcohol... The bird flying out of the cage really appeals to me. So, as long as it's tasteful I am flexible.

More importantly, the magic is still working. I have been offered wine, beer and vodka on a daily basis since Friday and am not only refusing it but doing so like I would refuse a banana.. "No thanks, I don't feel like it." then on to other discussions. No temptation whatsoever. I was the type that would be drooling for a glass and then drooling for the next one... Big change.

Those of you who don't want a tattoo, you might consider buying yourselves a symbolic charm or medalion (sp) to commemorate your freedom ...

                        Have a great day gang.

Great post, Tips. Oh, and while we're on Texas, you might enjoy:

I still like the bird/cage tattoo also. But, I'm continuing to look because I think it would be great if we could have the same one. We'll figure it out. I'll post anything interesting that I run across.

So good to hear about the success you're having. Same for me..........no feeling like I'm missing out, no envy of those drinking.........Isn't it the most liberating thing you've ever experienced?

                          Have a super day.

LOL, love it. OK, I'll keep looking too. I should make an appointment at the tattoo place. Yikes... here goes nothing. We have to decide by the middle of next week OK? So liberating. We are so lucky to have found this site, this book and each other.
