We do tend to become attached to things. So to speak. (Sorry Starty - I'm not all that famliar with your underpants situation. If they are attached, perhaps a good soak?)

But a good friend made me this hat and I'm not taking it off until the next holiday. Or I have a slip up - in which case I won't be deserving of the hat and will change it for a hair shirt or something.

Father's still in hospital. Mom is seeing a counsellor tomorrow. I'm still ever so slightly speechless that his alcoholism is a revelation to her - he's been a full-blown alkie since I was around 10 She does recognise her co-dependence now, at least. We'll see what she says after tomorrow.

Well, it's not a bad idea to come back to an essay or any large body of work after a decent night's sleep, pinky. How do things work in universities nowadays? Do you simply e-mail your essays to the teacher or print them off or do they still make you write them out by hand?

My day's been rather unproductive, TBH. I didn't get enough sleep last night, so had to go and have a snooze after lunch to compensate. So basically my day has consisted of eating and sleeping! It's a tough life...

It does seem very strange that your mother didn't realise your father is an alcoholic, tips. What was it that caused her to make him go to hospital?
