G, so sorry about things with family, but sometimes, like with supposed friends, we just have to move on. Take care of you, then you can care for others.
Bird, it's good to know where you come from. Take care in your busy world, because you've moved onward and upward by your own efforts. Sometimes the challenges make us better than we expect, and provide, like you do, a symbol of what CAN be done.
Fen, as always, thank you for being here for me. I can't tell you all what true friendship means to me after being isolated for so long. Yes, I have a lot of medical issues, but they don't define me, nor does negativity. I KNOW who I am, and am very comfortable in my own skin. Someone told me that 12 years ago, a dear friend who comforted me when I lost my beloved Daddy. She's terribly perceptive, and later I hosted her daughter and grandchildren when they were hiding from an abusive marriage situation. I'll never forget her, or them, and thankfully they've been able to move on.

Sounds like SO much fun with the toddler. My SIL told me once their kids get so excited when I'm there 'cause it's like the circus coming to their house, since I always bring treats, play the games I can, and they always want to show me everything since I was there last. But AB told me he said I was so good at playing the witch at Halloween because I really was one! (careful, I'll cast the evil eye on you!!) So miss being with them more, we're 2 hours away. I'm going next weekend, and we'll have a grand shopping trip after my 2 doc appointments to the $ Store!! (tho AB now wants to shop online!! :H)
Love you all, and thanks for your support. It was a long, tiring day, but I'm still wide awake. OH, and had Mad here for about 3 hours since her Daddy gets her on Wednesdays (Grace was at her friends for a birthday). Her mother NEVER took pics of them but I did, so I let her go through a pile and she took a lot. Better for them to have the picture memories since I have the real ones.

Darn tax refund is delayed and I was looking forward to doing something..oh well...have dentist today and another wild bunch this afternoon. Have volunteered a months worth of lessons to the jazz band silent auction. I must be a glutton for punishment or however you say it. I am up early. Damn hot flashes wake me at all hours of the night. Start out in PJ's then slowly throughout the night I have to start peeling them off. Might as well start out in my skivvies since that is where I usually end up anyway. Sorry ....TMI? I have work now for the next three days. Feeling pretty good despite that and no sleep. Morning georgie - hot flushes are the worst aren't they? I remember having to either strip the bed or else put a towel on the bed - and with Hubs there it was easier to put a towel!! Just know they do eventually pass!

Nora - glad to have you back - or not really actually - as you said, you posted a lot more when you were at your foks - now you will be back at work and have no time again. Laughed at saying I would have a fit if I saw your drawers and the way you packed your suitcase - probably !!! I had never thought about being tudy until Jan mentioned it to be honest but yes, my suitcase is always packed very neatly.

Good Morning jan - hope the back is better today. I hate that one move can throw things out as we get older - ask Ruby - she would know.

Off to do some ironing - am doing a clopen today and tomorrow so must have stuff ready for both days - then I get the weekend off!!

Morning all. Up at all hours through the night, too, but I got good naps in between. Where is Sun? Is the work schedule taking a toll??
G, work will fly by, hopefully, and hoping hubby has a very successful interview. Tell him to go online and read up on how to act in an interview. When Hubs went in recently, along with his already impressive resume, I gave him 3 pointers only on certain personality quirks he has that interviewers notice. He doesn't like things pointed out to him about himself, but he listened, and thanked me this time. I used to interview as part of my job, and Hubs and our son do now, so you CAN tell a lot about a person by just letting them talk and watching their body language. Very telling, you know? Left on their own devices, people say more about themselves than they know. So boost his ego, and help him with online advice. Easier coming from others, sometimes.
Expecting my daily call from Tay in a bit. Oh, and Mad (14) found a very cute bikini in the recent Victoria's Secret booklet I get, and asked if I'd get it for her. (1) As I pointed out, she's 14 (2) The handkerchief sized top was $54, and (3) I told her she certainly earned and deserved the expense, but if she ever wore something like that I'd send her to a convent!

:H:H I would discourage ordering from Victorias secret anyway. They always send the top and bottom of bathing suits separately and charge a tremendous amount of money in shipping each thing separately. Sometimes shipping is almost 40 percent of the cost of each package delivered! My girls won't even buy from them anymore. G

Also, the last bathing suit my lil one ordered, she did not receive the bottom until end of the summer. Pointless.......

Awwwh, feel better, MB. Get one of those big ol' boys to give you a massage. They've got massive hands, and you deserve the treat.
G, I never order from them (maybe twice in 30 years!) 'cause Victoria hasn't got many secrets, anyway! They keep sending me catalogs, though. Advertising is pervasive with our young, it seems. As are the ridiculous 'celebrity' shows. I won't allow my girls to watch anything here with Lohan, Hilton, Kardashian, or Jersey Shores connected to it! Yes, I'm a switching grandma, but what possible good can come from this trash? And it DOES influence them and their behavior, expectations from others. I'm trying to work out their schedule to involve volunteer work at nursing homes and the animal shelter. May seem harsh to some, but kids need a dose of real life sometimes considering all they get while they're forming their values. Huge doses of love and praise always make it easier!
Hubs has called (left at 4:45), between meetings, and I asked him how he POSSIBLY gets his work done when they want to keep calling these thing all day? He agreed that's the rub. Everyone thinks their issue deserves a forum, then wonder why people aren't productive. I'd go NUTZ (ier) sitting in those things, one after the other, all day, when there's work to be done.
Supposed to be a record high today (near 80F!). I had the AC on in the car yesterday, then back to closer to normal tomorrow. No fear of snow or ice in the near future. The animals love it. Changed all my girl appts till next Friday (those people are so sweet up there) and I'll spend the weekend at the cabin. Hubs announced I couldn't go on (what HE deems) a bad tire, though most people would run it another year! When I said I'd call and set up an appointment at our dealer to change it, he said 'no, we need to get all 4', like that was going to stop me! :H Oh, and he wants me to schedule my big dental surgery BETWEEN his work outtages, when he's on 24/7. WTF!? Think I'll call Cheaters about him and his mistress, work!
