And don't forget. THE TRANSIT OF VENUS STARTS TOMOROW AT 8:35 EST.
And where will I be at this time? At the school preparing for scripture. Maybe I could cancel. Say I have a once this century event to attend.Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Looks like Techie has been exercising his edit/deletage arm :H I cracked up when the original post was slowly revealed :H:H

For the transit of 6th June 2012, Venus will take about six hours and a half hours to travel across the face of the Sun. Venus must be above the horizon for the transit to be visible. Australia is one of the best places on Earth from which to observe the transit as the entire transit will be visible from eastern and central Australia. The transit will have started before sunrise for those observing from Western Australia.

At the risk of being boring and pedantic though, I'm not sure that the Transit of Venus has any connection to why the moon looks brighter ..... think that might be more connected with last month's perigee moon

Blood cold here too but I have Clean-out-the-Fridge Soup bubbling away on the pot belly. How did the flue installation go, Happs?
Did a bit of 'Cairns in August' research this arvo ... hmmm ... hatching a dastardly plot. I.am.so. going to need some serious warmth by then.

Saute 1 onion, add the cauli (all chopped up, stalks and all) which was starting to get a tad ugly, add the 2 carrots going a bit limp and the 3 ears of corn which I stripped and the arse end of a iceberg lettuce. Add 1L of chicken stock, cook, blitz, season. When all noice and smooth add a flourish of cream and a grating of nutmeg and Bob's yer Uncle.

And of course there is always Brown Windsor Soup - very appropriate given the Jubilee celebrations :H
Brown Windsor soup - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Speaking of the Jubilee celebrations - the thing that I am going to do in the next week or so is Coronation Chicken!!! I don't know whether it was a big deal in Australia, but it was on the menu in NZ right through until the late 1960s. I remember my mum making one for my oldest brother's 21st celebrations :H:H Several of the cooking columns here are posting updated versions, but I thought I might try a traditional one sometime soon :-). This is the only link that I can find that is the closest that I can find to the original recipe that I have from my mother's collection of recipes from the 1950s

This place is like a bloody madhouse tonight assignments phone calls desperate attempts to dry clothes on every available appendage or flat surface. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

I think I've got a Nigella Coronation Chicken recipe somewhere Missy.
I am madly searching to match the curtains we bought earlier this year to block the sun so we can now block the wind whistling through those lovely windows in the picture with the sunflowers plus fielding every bloody question from every bloody person in the house....sometimes its just too hard. Might have to pay attention to life for a bit...
