Yeah it is. Honestly I've spent more time on assessments than I have in class time.
All I really wanted to do was sit around and talk shit about plants.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Way to go Ronnie on 7 days. Keep it up!

Mojo, no sleep here. Hubs is back to work this morning and wasn't as helpful last night. So 2.5 hours sleep chalked up so far for last night.

Techie, Leon is sending his baby smiles and giggles. I am sending you hugs.

Right, so orf to shower and take my parents out to my dads fav restaurant over here. We are having dinner there as well in two days because he needs his fill before he leaves on Friday.

Be well friends, see ya soon!

P.S. Watched MC USA, and it was terrible in comparison to the one here. The judges are rude, and none of the contestants are worthy. It makes you want to throw popcorn at the tv.

Thank you all for your well wishes. It means so much to me. While I've shared my visual challenges in stops and starts, I have reached a point where it makes sense to explain. I think I told Mr. & Mrs. Rags while in NY. Anyway, I have a military connected disability. My corneas were damaged due to being in close proximity to a phosphorus grenade. I had corneal transplants on both eyes and have had a lifetime of challenges with various semi-rigid contacts and other procedures over the years. It is only recently, that I was able to achieve 20/30 in my left eye with a new hybrid lens. It's a soft lens w/ a gas permeable center (core) that is the BEST ever for me.

The retina thing has been a lingering issue. Most of my challenges have been cornea specific. The urgency here is that the climbs I've been doing could cause a retinal detachment. Hence the surgery. Hopefully there will be minimal downtime, as Rainier still calls me. The greatest part of sobriety is feeling the highs and lows and honestly acknowledging them for what they are. Simply part of life that is best handled sober. In the movie version I gang hug all of you. Yup, at 1000 psi. You too Leon but I'd use a bit less pressure cause your still tiny

I was going to do something wonderful and technical with a multi quote but its me.....Techie thats an extraordinary post. I really dont know what to say except I do hope that Rainier is everything you want it to be and that the highs continue and outweigh the lows.

Not sure what the Frog will think about the group huggage, but hey...

Well, this place is full of 'happenings' today.

Much positive energy to you spesh Techie!!!

Rags, much love to you and Mr Rags. Isn't life an "interesting" journey? There you were teaching littlies to cook so they can fend for themselves a wee bit better in the not so distance future because of the impending departure of someone you also care for, and in another parallel of your Universe FIL slides into the next phase of his 'life'. You are a good soul for sure. I'm sorry life is sad for you right now.

Haps - sadness re your chookies too! Sending fixing up hugs.

Ronnie - hope you remain safe and secure and that the wild weather leaves you alone soon!

Reggie - I lost one of my v.spesh leather gloves at a market in Hobart a couple of years ago. I went around and around and around (in the freezing cold) until I finally DID find her. She was hiding in a crate of old bottles I had been admiring. There was a man with the biggest barrel of apples for sale and every time I went past he asked if I had found my glove and when I replied no he would say "here, have an apple, it will make you feel better". Then, when I went past and he asked had I found her and I replied yes he said "oh great, have an apple to celebrate!" I have never eaten so many apples in one day - before or since. I love Tasmania - so pretty, so cold and I may go again in July as there is a conference I should/could attend. I tried to eat a scallop pie while I was there too because lots of people raved and recommended I should - didn't like it! Hugs to Olive.

Sunny - I hope you get a nap this afternoon. I'd need one for sure. Kisses to the little man!

Waves to MoT, LilyP, Bridge and anyone else.

OH!!! Where is Tawny????? Hugs for when you get back!!!

Just plugging away at the command desk. Got in late because little Dharmsie has an upset stomach and pooped ALL night long and I had to wait until she settled before I could leave her at home alone. No more pets after this. I find it quite stressful when she isn't well. I don't handle stress like I used to, and I have a coldsore on my top lip to prove I'm stressed too! YUK!!

I saw my friend yesterday who was told she was dying from a very aggressive form of liver cancer. Thursday they ruled out cancer and now say she has some kind of major infection in either her stomach or bowel but her liver is looking better! Go figure - I can't!!! Anyway, I took her for a stroll around the shops then we drove out to a really lovely tea house and spent hours drinking tea and talking. It poured the whole day and it was cold so it was perfect to be inside sitting by the fire and just chatting away. She was really unsteady on her feet which worried me a little. A community nurse comes every day to administer antibiotics and she has daily blood tests but I just can't get my head around how things move sooooo slowly in the medical arena, even if you have a life threatening scenario going on! AND, I work in the medical arena so I'm FLUMMOXED!!! She has more tests in a couple of weeks - why the wait I say???? Something isn't gelling here me thinks.....

Have a lovely afternoon everyone and I'll pop in later on to see how you all are.

                              Hugs, Nicey.

Cheeses twice, Techie - the very thought of eye surgery completely churns my stomach. I don't know how you can remain so calm. But I suppose that is what you do. Best wishes for Saturday.

Undies - I'm freezing my tatts off today.

I think I like a 9-yo who wants pickled onions for brekkie. I bet she'll turn into an interesting woman.
