Hey everyone! So late this morning - had to take my eldest to the Orthodontist - she will be getting her braces off in June or July and she is thrilled! So am I! She is getting so many theatre roles that she feels a little self concious. "Lady Anne did NOT have braces..." She has a point!

Mama - I hear ya. The past few days I have been under all kinds of crappy stress. Mostly work related, but some with friends. Also just found that my husband's aunt just had another small stroke She is an absolutely wonderful person. Anyway, the stress has been through the roof, but in all honesty, I have not thought about drinking. I am on day 8 and am just thankful that I have gotten this far. As far as manners I hear ya as well. Just got off a conference call with a publisher. Her ASSistant was so rude and combative to me that the publisher actually called me off line to tell me how embarrased she was about the way he acted. Complete douchebag he was. And I am really easy to get along with (most of the time :H) Manners in regular and work life are just non-existant anymore. You know that little "like" button on facebook? I wish there was a button I could push during conference calls (and other times) where a little fist comes flying out of the phone/computer and punches the nasty person in the nose. I think I will work on that. I would be a millionaire! :H

        Hi folks - late check-in today !
:l:l to all those suffering health ,financial and other issues.

I have actually nothing really important to moan about.

        Except :
        • 300 employees got overpaid & having a divil of a time getting it back from the FECKERS.A few others got paid a feckin' bonus - one been out sick 14 years :egad:
Now you would imagine I am paid HUGE bucks to deal with this shite - I'm NOT!:upset: Everyone runs for cover

Apart from that all is well :H

            ASSistant, love it, Waggers.

The funeral came and went, cup of tea and a few sarnies afterwards.
Got a bit upset when the vicar read Death is Nothing at all by Henry Scott Holland as we had that at my dad's.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

                    Comforting Poem JC ?

                    Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
                    That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
                    which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

                    Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
                    that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
                    There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you.
                    For an interval.
                    Somewhere. Very near.
                    Just around the corner.

                    All is well.

I found 'sober life' awful friggin exhausting for a long while. Between AA and Aftercare and 'doing the right things' just seemed to fill every waking moment - reading between the lines I'm guessing Zens is feeling something similar - but I'm getting used to it, whatever becomes the norm. or (horrible word) routine, eventually just becomes what you do - I do crave some 'me' time sometimes - that's why my Thursday night - it's my only night that I do NOTHING - or something if I choose - is just so friggin precious.

Am I ever on board with you on this one! Recovery is a full time feckin job for me at the moment... my week now contains this lot...

Three 3 hour IOP sessions three nights a week
                        Five AA meetings
A couple of meetings with my sponsor
Taking the half way folk to meetings, grocery shopping and job hunting at least 5 days a week...

But I AM getting used to it, like you said. It was the continuous having to talk that was doing my head in… never a quiet moment… but I’ve adjusted.
