HAPPY SECOND ANNIVERSARY TO MY WAY OUT...

When I think about the difference this place has made to my life I get very emotional...

I was in a very dark place and totally lost, then one day I very nervously opened a door, that was the best day of my life...

All I had to do was to take that first step, and like a baby taking its first steps, there were so many hands reaching out to support me and guide me, so many people to advise me, so much love...

How many times have you heard people say, " make the most of it, you only get one life " ?? Well I beg to differ... I have been given a second life, a chance to live the life I have always wanted... I'm sober, I'm healthy, I feel stronger in myself, and at long last I have found a path to follow, my life is no longer empty and quite simply I am happy...

I could never have done all this on my own, so on this the second anniversary of MWO I would like to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart, but I especially wish to thank Roberta Jewell who made all this possible....

This site and the people on it have gotten me through to being a happier, healthier and more content.Sure I still go through some bad days...who doesn't... but I can come on here and open up about how I feel and receive an overwhelming feeling of support and care. Where would I begin...

Here I started to work on liking myself and accepting myself for who I am.. honestly and with integrity. I take credit for the hard work I put into that.. but it was on this site that I found some soul mates who shared their journey with me and that empowered me onto greater things than I originally hoped for.

RJ, you have my respect - even if we dont agree on everything (smile).. and I dont give my respect out lightly.

RJ/MWO will go down in history without a doubt, imagine in 50 or so years someone wondering... I wonder when it began, I wonder who the first people were who joined... IT's US.. hurrah. As I am relatively new I can;t really write about the past two years and what has changed for me BUT I can visualise (ah I got a lovely sunny feeling inside there), about what WILL HAVE changed within the NEXT two years!! The only way I can do that is by reading what has happened to you all so once again and again again THANK YOU ALL for your posts, threads, wisdom and most of all your sincerity.

MYO Two Years Old Today! - How Have I Changed In the Last Two Years?

Couldn't help but put my two cents' in here...I've been a member for well over a year, having joined just after my birthday in 2005, and I couldn't have asked for a better gift!

The support that I got and later, the support that I was able to give, have made such a tremendous difference in my life. Worrying about drinking has become a memory for me--me who used to wake up in the middle of the night worrying about liver damage and heart attacks, DWI's and worse! (Fortunately, I never had to actually deal with those, but I could get a PhD in worrying.)

I have you to thank for that RJ. I owe so many people here a debt of gratitude, but you put it all together, and you have also been generous with YOUR time as well. I owe you an awful lot, as well!

Oh, and a minor complaint....in our "mood indicators", someone forgot to put "grateful" in there!:H
