It also depends on how much you drive. I do upwards of 30 000km a year, so need to buy low mileage. If you do much less than that, you can easily buy a 4 y/o car and still get many years of reliable service out of it.

Army Thread Monday 22nd April
Another Xpost. Thanks for that, tips. I'm a very low mileage driver these days...about 4000 miles a year or 6500km. A demonstration model sounds like a good idea. I'm just a little bit wary of shelling out a few ?1000 on a used motor and ending up with something that breaks down on the way home. No one in my family has ever bought a second hand car, except for my brother who once bought one from someone he knew, and I don't really know anyone, present company excepted of course.tiptronic_ct;1495567 wrote: Reccie: I've only bought a brand new car once before. They tend to lose a whack of their value the minute you drive them off the showroom floor. You can normally get a good deal on a demonstration model or a 1 y/o with low mileage. Just don't opt for a former fleet vehicle. They can be lemons. In Saffaland at least, you can save up to 30% compared to the price of a new vehicle.

I know Tipps! I'm starting to feel like something of HGTV!
Reccy... my car is an ex-demo... I bought it with 4,000 miles on it and saved a bunch of money over buying it new. I would defo recommend a demo car, like Tipps said...

It's not bloody easy, quitting. They say it's harder to kick than any drug or the grog.
