Another Xpost. Thanks for that, tips. I'm a very low mileage driver these days...about 4000 miles a year or 6500km. A demonstration model sounds like a good idea. I'm just a little bit wary of shelling out a few ?1000 on a used motor and ending up with something that breaks down on the way home. No one in my family has ever bought a second hand car, except for my brother who once bought one from someone he knew, and I don't really know anyone, present company excepted of course.

It also depends on how much you drive. I do upwards of 30 000km a year, so need to buy low mileage. If you do much less than that, you can easily buy a 4 y/o car and still get many years of reliable service out of it.
