to be honest i don't miss the hangovers the expense or the effort it takes to remain pissed 12hrs a day, every day of the year like i was. i also startle myself when i realize i don't think about it or even want a drink. I do give myself a little chuckle now and then. It really is a surprise to think i am a non drinker, after 3 years.

At last a day to myself with no responsibilities. BLISS

So I've been contemplating Techie's, erm ... "distraction" ... and I remembered something from when I was probably around fourteen. There were six of us at high school, really good friends and we did everything together. Bookish stuff and sporty stuff and daydream stuff UNTIL Hillary Nettleton got.a.boyfriend. She totally dumped us, couldn't hang out with us any more and on the rare occasion she deigned so talk to us it was only to bore us with tales of her gorgeous Darren. Dog, we hated her and to this day I'm not sure we hated her because we were jealous that she had a boyfriend or whether it was because she actually had proper tits.

And because she had proper tits, it seemed appropriate to ask her about matters of a sexual nature. Although we had a rudimentary understanding of what went on, there were a few gaps in our sex education which Hillary gladly filled. We were wondering why, in movies, the husband always acts surprised when the wife tells him she's expecting a baby. Surely he'd have to know. He was there, wasn't he? Hillary just rolled her eyes with distain and informed us with great authority "How can he know? It happens at night when you're asleep."

I've since been a tad suspicious of women with proper tits ...

Aspy - I remember you saying something along the lines of you knew you had to stop when your little tacker was copying your drinking with his sippy cup. That's really stuck in my head. You've been fantastic.

Bridge - you still glued to the cricket or have you managed to escape?

Have decided the Vietnam trip can't happen. Logistically impossible and potentially irresponsible so I shall have to indulge in more vicarious travel through Missy. Can't wait for a good NYC report.
