Marning Incheroo.
Was just feeling in quite a good mood this morning, makes a change as I've been clinging to me pillow lately.
Now then our Reccy, forget the 'harm minimisation' thing it covers all sorts. The service you'll be referred to sounds much like ours. The harm minimisation is normally for drug addicts. Clean needles, safe gear that kind of thing. Keeping them healthy until they're ready to make the final leap. And pleased to say it works.
This is the place you'll prolly get the acupuncture, counselling , massage and getting structure into your day.It could be worse, I could be filing.

mollyka;1512637 wrote: Well Reccie that was an epic for sure!!!! What does 'harm minimisation' mean I wonder? Sounds like you've done that bit all on your own??
I'm with the recovery service at the moment and the guy said the harm minimisation service will help with relapse prevention and stuff, but I do agree with you, it all seems rather back to front to me.
mollyka;1512637 wrote: Yep, my drinking was in full flow when I was in my first few years in the job - I 'got away' with it for several reasons - luck, the 'invisibility' of a middle-aged woman - you know, no one expects you to be in rag order when you're one of them - and I did drink sometimes through the working day - but rarely and mostly just a few slugs just before I'd leave to go to my mums house to mind her - running the horrendous gauntlet of my bitchsista's who were permanently (it seemed) partying over there while she was in bed..... the smell of the drink rather than my behaviour would have been the worry - masked with chewing gum and mouth wash - that sort of thing - I was so tolerant of alcohol back then that I would never have appeared drunk or even 'under the weather' --- for the 3 yrs prior to this spell of sobriety it was several binges which didn't happen in work context so....... yeah - bloody lucky really!!!!
I suspect a fair few of us were fortunate to get away with it. I'm guessing EW wasn't so lucky. Wonder if he'll get an opportunity to log on again soon?
mollyka;1512637 wrote: Shouting ---- mmmm Joe would sympathise with you on the shouting front -- his mother shouted - like SCREAMED - morning noon and night - she was barking mad - when we got married his one request was that there would be no shouting or screaming (my request was that there would be no prolonged angry silences for my own reasons!) he, however, did all the shouting himself in the early days - it's what he grew up with and didn't even know he was doing it...... very sad, sorry you had that with your Dad:l
I can definitely empathise with Joe here. I remember you talking a couple of weeks back about the way the wounds that are done to us in childhood have a big impact on our lives and I reckon in some ways this is a case in point, although admittedly it's not a particularly extreme example.

mollyka;1512645 wrote: Right, a bitta food porn - going to do a big bbq this evening - so on the menu -- striploin steaks, lamb chops marinaded in mint and honey, bbq'd spare ribs and chicken breasts in indian spices - lots of salads and some sort of a mega birthday cake to cover the whole lot of them.....mmmm hungry now!!!

It was my wedding anny yesterday too - cinema and Frankie and Bennys (all 6 of us - dead romantic)
- but no booze - yay me !!!Glad your birthday and anniversary went well and well done on the not drinking!! I don't suppose you've had any news about your dog?
Morning tabbers, Jackie, satzy and inchy :hallo: Struggling to keep up with all the new arrivals!
