Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

Sad to hear that it's not just ignorant US rednecks that abandon their dogs :bang :soapbox:

Did they at least leave food for them? I would take them in a heartbeat

Thanks guys (arsey, molly, siren, foxy, satzy and jackie) for the kind words. The encouragement really does help an awful lot, and I'm sure inchy would agree.

I am a little bit, siren. There's another 8 hours to go before day 1 is over, but I know I will make it. A month ago I was drinking very nearly a bottle of whisky a day and the idea of going 24 hours without AL seemed utterly impossible.

Glad you got your puppies back, that sounds like GOOD news!

Sorry about the upset stomach foxy...hope the imodium works.

The chicken stock was a definite success. Couldn't bring myself to chuck out the veg, so I passed the stock through a colander, picked out the chicken bones, and tipped what was left back into the pan and gave it a whizz with the stick blender. The end result is actually more like chicken soup than stock! :goodjob:

it's weird, its so totally different to this time only 2 weeks ago, i'm definitely happier already, doing more, generally just in a better place - still got some bad stuff and the anxiety's a killer especially late at night but i'm really sure now this is what I want to do

Here's a tip for gravy: When I do a roast I throw a couple of chunks of carrot and celery in the bottom of the pan with the water. When the roast is done, I blend them into the juices before adding the thickener - makes the gravy extra yummy.

i'll be honest on this one: i do not have any intention of remaining sober at the festival in 10 days time, afterwards yes, but certainly not for those 5 days. and i know alot of folks will tell me its a bad idea and what not, but if it is i'll find out for myself - no offence

thanks molly, i'm prepared that this might be a real bad decision on my part, but i also think there's a ood chance those 5 days won't affect me, at least psychologically, when it comes to drinking - its like being on a whole other planet for 5 days, everybody drinks in the morning, we all chain smoke and wear ponchos and nobody showers xD none of those things really carry over when you get home, 'cept i do wear my poncho instead of a dressing gown sometimes xD

:hallo: Army. Had a lekker nanna nap, feasted on leftovers and am now contemplating a bowl of ice cream ***burp***

We've had some severe weather today. Heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail and wind. About 2000 people left homeless. I hope it abates overnight.
                              I'll do whatever it takes

                                Evening all.

That's just dreadful, Tips. Fingers crossed for it stopping. So glad our extremes of weather are few and far between and very rarely leave any homeless.
