Morning folks Off to take the eldest back to college - can you believe it is time already? She's going up a week early to help with the incoming freshmen in the theatre and music programs. I am so proud of her. Def not as psychotic as I was this time last year...lol

        Hope everyone is well!

Ok, so...I got changed, put on my running shoes and set off up the lane at a nice gentle pace. I'd not gone very far when I sensed that something was amiss...a little too much ventilation in my nether regions, perhaps? So...I looked down and yep....I'd forgotten to put my shorts on ops!::blush::blush::blush:

The years of boozing must've had even more effect on my brain than I thought. Can't even dress myself properly now FFS!!! :nutso:

Was wondering how you and satzy were getting on with your stove hunting while I was in the bath. Guess you haven't come to a decision yet then?

Oh...what's a Kindle Fire HD do apart from books? Can you get really important stuff like the army thread on it?

                          Army Thread Saturday 17th August

                          Evening all.

I :h my Kindle Fire. Took a bit of getting used to and there's still more to learn. Get all sorts of sites even MWO and it's not teeny weeny writing like on a phone.

Shame about the lunch, Molls. I had a thumper of a headache this aftie so had a lie down.

Shame about the pants, perhaps a longer t-shirt, Reccy.

Son and heir arrived home and is sooooooooooooooo organized I'm thinking of taking his DNA to make sure he's ours.

Loved Love/Hate. Cannot wait for the second series.

Stove hunting achully went very well - it's now a decision to be made with the plumber re. the size of the thing - but we've narrowed it down to 3 -- all are lovely. Big difference in prices between different makes etc. but I reckon we'll get a smashing one for about 500 euros + fitting + flues and stuff - it should heat the house like a mad thing with much less coal used..... Simon can get us a job lot of turf as well so reckon we'll cut our fuel costs in half if we get it.... hopefully!
YES --- re. the kindle --- it's an Ereader primarily -- but holy shit I can do everything else on it as well -- full internet, emails, facebook, skype (haven't worked out the volume yet - think Jacks has one so she can talk me through that!!!) just letting it charge at the moment.... I'm so excited about it -- like a child at christmas tbh!!!!
How's you our boy?? We didn't meet Adam after all -- he suffers from what is called 'cluster headaches' --- sorta like migraine X a million --- and he's floored with one today ---- poor pet
So nice dindins in the oven and feet up for a lovely lazy Saturday night ---- Joe bought a 'gadget' in town that was s'posed to allow Sky on another tele (change stations etc.) but it doesn't work so he's a wee bit pissed off -- ah - he'll get over it!
That sounds very promising re the stove molly. It's definitely worth taking your time to get your heating system right. Mine is wonderful now that it's back working again, worth its weight in gold. Have to say that that was more by luck than design but now I really do understand what a huge difference a good efficient heating system can make to your quality of life during the cold months.

I was actually joking about getting the army thread on your Kindle - didn't realise they could do so much! Glad you're pleased with your purchase though!

As Jackie says, shame about the lunch - and about adam's cluster headaches - hope you can rearrange the lunch soon.

Sorry about the headache Jackie - I hope you're feeling better now after your snooze :l

Wow, you have a good memory Jackie! TBH, I don't know what grades my niece got yet, I'll let you know when I find out. My brother said he thought she would get a mix of A and A* grades. Unfortunately she already knew that she won't be able get a place to study medicine at uni this autumn - she had to attend some kind of apptitude test or interview a little while back and it didn't go well for her and the competition for places is very strong. There was some talk about her trying again next year - I guess she'll have a better idea about that now that she's got her grades. I'm off up to my mum's next weekend and she'll have all the details, so I'll find out then, if not before.
