    Hoping you come back for another try!

    As I was thinking about the last year, I was reminded of some special people I met here who no longer post regularly. Maybe some of you are happily living alcohol-free or -moderate lives and just don't need MWO anymore. (It would be great to hear from you and know that all is well ) But in case any of you are lurking or just stop by and happen to see this thread, I remember you and if you still want to change your life, hope you come back, develop a stronger plan, and try again. Everything about my life has been improved as a direct result of the decision to stop drinking and my New Year's wish for everyone who feels trapped and out of control is that they find their paths to freedom.

    Hi NoSugar. :new: Of course I don't know the people on your list, nor do I remember others who no longer post but I just wanted to say hi and Merry Christmas.

    Staying in touch is SO important even once goals have been reached. The past few days I've spent reading and reading dozens of posts and it's been such an inspiration. If those people had quit posting after they began to see progress, or even when they had experienced slips I would not have been so inspired.

    I hope to posts lots and if my experiences can help anyone else I'll be very happy.:h

      I think it just happens, its kind of the nature of the beast, be this a board about AL or motorcycles. Some people just fall out of the "habit" and others get turned off because of what they consider "drama".

      I have a few FB friends from here that have said they arent coming back.....and yes I agree, its a bummer, and I wish they would come back.

      Now its time for some others to step up and fill those big shoes that have left a vacancy in our little corner of the world.

        That's a great invitation, NoSugar. We get roughly 2500 visitors a day, yes, A DAY on this site. We have about 122 active posters, according to the home page...you wonder what the others are doing and we can only hope they are finding another way out of the hell that is Alcoholism. Maybe we will see these folks return in 2014, I hope so!

          I miss all of those people as well NS...and wanted to throw Nurdl into the group too!

          And Nursie, you know I need you here to help me keep those Olive Garden servers in line!

          Unwasted was always a voice of sound reason, a beautiful woman inside and out...I miss you UN and hope you come back!

            Slaythefear was around when i started,i have her on fb though and she seems to be doing good

            Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

              NS, A few weeks ago I almost started a 'whatever happened to thread' mainly because as I read back posts, I become so involved in someone's story but then I realize they haven't posted In months or sometimes years.
              Your approach is much better ad I have wondered about almost everyone on your list- mainly Sake/Amber as she lives close to me and I know she was struggling with an upcoming vacation...

              I want to shout out to Dixon, BHog, Sarasmiles,Marty...you are still a very important part of this site and you'd probably be shocked at how much you are missed...but you really are. Please pop in even if its just for an update

                    What a great thread NS!

                    I miss Unwasted very much.

                    People do come and go so there is a different "generation" being created in relatively short periods of time. She was posting incredibly intelligent things when I first came here right at the time I needed it most and reached out to me and many others. I sincerely hope she is doing well and enjoying that beautiful cabin they were moving to.
                    2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.

                          NS!!! How touching to see you were thinking of me...I missed you and all the folks in this little community. It breaks my heart to think that I left, that it took me 9 months to come back and that it could have been different. But here i am, close by, after many months of drinking and attempting to stop. I pray is this is last time i fall off. XO
