Last night after my badminton club I went to the pub with a few of the guys. I used to have a small beer at this time every Monday but I decided to have a coke then a bottle of non alcoholic lager. I wouldn't have noticed that the lager wasn't alcoholic until after I had finished it when naturally I realised It had no effect on my brain.
What I want to know is, Is drinking non alcoholic lager a form of cheating i.e. keeps your brain craving the real thing because it tastes similar.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Sorry if so :-)
I view non-alcoholic beverages the way I view electronic cigarettes...I feel like I am "pretending" to drink or smoke. It's the habit and ritual that I am trying to break, so by pretending I feel like I am dragging it out. But please be aware, I have used BOTH in the past...but I felt like I wasn't doing myself any favors. Basically I say do whatever works for YOU!
