Morning army. I tried posting last night but t5he whole section was full of spam by the same idiot. thanks for all your good wishes. I hadn't been counting or keeping track of days as I was just trying to get on with things but I had an idea I was just over the 3 month mark. Freezing again this morning and more sleet and snow forecast.

Have been looking at the devastation caused by the fires.
Do you have the big Erickson air crane heloicopters there for firefighting?
Possibly not, as they get deployed to Australia for our fire season.
I think there's only about 20 in the world and they cost over $30,00 an hour to operate.

Morning Ragstar and rest of!

42C here yesterday. Did not go to the two houses of horrors: no way that I was going to get in and out of cars and buildings and be nice to people while slowly melting to the ground.

Ragstar, was going to tell you about the fires, since I mentioned it on your fred a day or so ago. Bad, bad, bad. But, the fynbos is actually rejuvenated by fire - helps with seed germination. Luckily no lives lost, but the small animals... We use heli's - water scooped from the sea, but don't know whether they're Ericksons or not. One of the fires is close to a squatter camp, from what I could see on the news last night: it will be a nightmare if it gets in there. The wind is the biggest problem - you just cannot fight nature, can you? Enjoy what's left of your day - and you even got the Frogstar out of her hidey-hole!

Loved the story, JC; do you always serve cheese & biscuits in white bowels? Funny lot, you upstairs ones.
