    Very sorry Missy B.
I agree, you should go if you can.

Very sorry to hear this Missy. That is a horrible thing and sadly all too common when someone cannot see a way out of the darkness. Take care.

Thanks all ovaries and undies. I have a small term deposit due in September that I will raid to go to my friends funeral. My friends and I have had loads of discussions over the last 24 hours about what we might have done differently. Short answer is probably nothing. He was a thoroughly decent man and I'm sure that he is standing at the right hand of a few angels tonight.

I'm so sorry Mrs B. I don't think there's anything anyone can do in these circumstances, because the person who's suffering isn't seeing things as they really are. I'm glad you're able to go to the funeral and I hope you and friends are all able to take comfort from each other, and also provide comfort to his family. Hugs. xxxxxxxxxx

                Morning all,

Missy I just noticed Jetstar have a sale on currently for flights to NZ if it helps. Advertised in Melbourne but may be similar pricing for you. Take care. G

Mr G, that is so nice of you and I thank you very much!! Unfortunately, (or fortunately depending on your perspective!!) Jetstar dont do a direct Sydney- Wellington flight .... only Qantas, Air NZ and Emirates. But Qantas have some cheap flights at the moment, and I'm in negotiations with the bank about them giving my money back without penalty!!!

And thank you all very much for your thoughts for my friend. He really was a fantastic human being, and will be much missed.

Well, I have to say that contrary to all expectations, the bank have been lovely and allowed me to take money out of my term deposit with very little in the way of penalties!! So I have now paid off the wedding and booked to go to my friend's funeral next week!! But I am now officially on starvation rations!!

So how is everyone else?? :-)

                            Bridget!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.
