You can do it Mama! I am trying to quit smoking and this is so much harder than when I quit drinking. You work so hard and I totally understand how it feels to want to unwind after that. But for me, the next day was always so hard to get over the previous night of "unwinding". I still wake up, almost five years later, thinking how much better I feel than a night after drinking.

You know you have tons and tone of support here. I hope at least your hubs work drink around you in the beginning.

I came in here because I wanted/needed to post and, naturally, hubby just walked in. Aaarrrggghhh

Anyway - back for another minute.....

Today is 90 days AF for me again. So, I got up the nerve to start cleaning out my drawers. I have not found any bottles - THANK GOODNESS! I have found several of the plastic top thingies that go in tequila bottles. :yikes:
But, this is good for me to be doing this. It's like a cloud that has been hovering over me.....wondering if there was anything stashed somewhere.

Sorry - he's back. He's trying to help me go thru stuff and I just want to do it alone. :harhar:

Hubs and I talked and date night is something I really look forward to, so I will only drink on Saturday. I cannot enjoy myself if he is having wine or beer. We both agreed this is ok....so we shall see. The travelling thing has me messed up AL wise, so this will be my compromise. I understand if I get criticism...it's ok.

Gloomy day here and so is my mood, so don't have much to say. The money the ins. company is offering me doesn't come close to replacing my car. I thought the restitution was to make a person whole again.

SK - I hate that about insurance. I have gone thru exactly the same thing and it's just not fair. You have a car that is running great and what they give you won't buy the same vehicle. I'm so sorry.
Any news on the house? Is he giving you support while you are waiting?

Liz - I hope that you are having a wonderful time!!

Mama - I totally support you in what you decide. Date night is very important to you and hubby. Please come here and talk about it when you need to. You did very well with sticking to date night - I know you can do it again. :hug:

Fen - how are you feeling? I hope you are feeling better. If your ears are hurting so much, you might need antibiotics. I'm sorry that things are so hard right now. My thoughts are with you.

Hey Nora, my love. Thanks for the kind words. I guess I have been stressed with my job, the foreclosure and travelling that I was beginning to self-medicate. I did good with date night a long time, so that's the plan.
Insurance is robbery....plain and simple, Fenny - I hope you are feeling better. Season 5 of The Walking Dead is out, so off to catch up and wait or hubs to get home from the pub.

Mama-Like Nora, I support your plan to stick to date night. You seem to be able to moderate well and I am totally comfortable with that. Date night IS important to your relationship. Hopefully hubs will go out with the boys when he wants to drink. I give you a lot of credit for keeping yourself together with this incredibly stressful job, girlfriend.

Nora, CONGRATULATIONS ON OVER 90 DAYS AF!!!!!!! SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!! LOL-when my clients tell me they want to finish an audit the day before, I tell them, "well, I guess I'll know when you want me outa here when you've shut down my laptop and started my car for me!" Hahaha. Humor goes a LONG way when you're an auditor. To answer your question, no, my clients are not in the food industry...that's a totally different standard. I didn't know if you knew this, but Wal-Mart requires ALL their food suppliers to be certified to SQF (Safe Quality Food) or a similar standard. I only had that one client in the Cleveland area that was certified to SQF and QMS. I gave that client to another auditor because I was not allowed to wear make-up, false eyelashes and my gel nails. Forget that! VANITY, Thy Name is Rusty!!! Hahahahahahha

Have a great day all. I worked for a few hours and am now home still cleaning out cabinets, etc. I'm beginning to get really anxious regarding son's court date. Sigh.........he was supposed to have 2 meetings a week since the postponement and by the time the lawyer told him (and I'm sure procrastination on DS's part) that he is going to the AA daily to get meetings in. He has to have this for house arrest. So between that and fretting about my Mom, I'm stressing. But, I am just repeating over & over to myself:
