    Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
    Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
    Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
    Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

        Thoughts and prayers to you and Mrs. BigAl. Good job staying present. I'm sure she appreciates it. I don't know if people who don't have our problem can understand the effort it can be to stay sober.

        Techie, those were indeed wise words about self care. Thanks for sharing that.

        I guess I forgot to check in yesterday. I was helping my gf get to her radiation treatment in a city that i24 s an hour away. She is going to a specialty treatment center. We had to leave early which is how I forgot to check in. Time was short.

          Good for you Big Al to be there af for your wife! That’s the best thing you can do for her and for you.

          Our new window coverings we’re installed yesterday and they are exactly what we expected. Great product from a well run, small, family business. Support local small businesses everyone!

          Another very hot day here so another early walk is in order. We get our 2nd vaccines this afternoon. Yay!

              Good morning Cafe friends and resilient ones. It’s wonderful and beautiful in one of my favorite spots, Monterey. We drove from 102 degree temps to 64 degrees. Another 24 for this beach goer. Have a wonderful day. Blessings x

                I started my day at 4:00 am by extracting a mouse from the jaws of my cat. Uggh! Hope that's not a sign of how the rest of my day is going to be!

                It's a chilly start at 45°, but temps should reach the low 70's by this afternoon. Perfect!

                Sign me up for another 24 please!

                  This cool weather has been a kind of nice but very odd for June! The temp is supposed to start going back up tho so I'll enjoy it while I can.

                    Good morning. Jude, that is quite a morning for sure! Big Al still thinking of you and your wife. So glad you are sober for her as she needs you more than ever. Hope everyone has a great day. It’s great to be home but I’m already missing my little guys. It hot, hot, hot here today with more storms moving in. Hope everyone has a great day.                         How the heck did you know the cat was feasting on a mouse [MENTION=24080]Jude58[/MENTION]?? I'm not sure that would have woke me up, unless you get up that early lol.

                        The last 2 days have been hot! We get a bit of a break today then the temps soar once again. Going to be in the high 90's possibly into the 100's for the next week! That is just unheard of this early up here! And of course I've been swamped with a/c calls and between Covid and the Canal fiasco, material is getting hard to obtain. Sure hope they don't run short of R410a Freon!

                          Rava, there’s a reason we have kids when we’re young! It takes us a while to recover from a visit with the grandkids but it’s still worth it!!

                          We got our second vaccines yesterday, nice to have that done. There was a vacant handicap parking spot right by the door when we arrived and when we went inside, the person at the registration desk saw Mrs QW’s cane and escorted us to the front of the line.

                          Big Al, thinking about you and hoping things are going well for you both.

                          Another hot day here but not as warm as what’s coming next week. Off for an early walk in the cool.

                            Sitting out with the critters drinking my coffee. Enjoying this perfect morning before the heat is unbearable. Every time I opened the door yesterday, it was like opening an oven door! The beach trip at the end of July can't come soon enough!

                            Stay cool and hydrated everyone! I'll take another 24, please!

                              Good morning cafe friends. I've been running on very little sleep here over the last week and it caught up with me last night. Fell asleep on the couch (something I never do), and missed my evening post. Still playing the waiting game, but have remained AF through the stress of it all. I think my wife expected me to cave at some point and look to alcohol for relief. I am glad that I have been able to be here for her, she is glad as well.

                              As I read through the posts I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support, the thoughts, the prayers, the positive energy. It means a lot and certainly helps me remain sober. So thank you all so very much.
