Army Gates now open for the second week of May

Mid week JC.. Work, scouts, football and dinner as usual! Kids made me cards and pressies.. Normal day really cake and hugs.
Found it more difficult the previous week but I'm past that now.

That's exactly what I needed, too, Mary. I tried to intellectualize and reason my way out for years. When I finally got out of my own way and just did what I was told by people I trusted who had been there, it finally all clicked into place. I'm really happy for you :hug:.

Thanks NS, sounds familiar. And what encouraged me was that every book or article I read, I didn't appear to be 'as bad' as them cos I didn't drink in the morning!
Each day as it comes now. It's never far from my mind and that's fine..I'll stick here and keep posting.. I know it's quite at the moment, but more will come.. (Although that sounds like a line from a zombie movie!).
Because it is SO worth it.

I was thinking about something the other day and I know I'm a terrible people pleaser...........although I'm not sure if that's a fault or not.

I think we need to go back to discussing why we're here - alcohol and what it did to us.
When I first came here I know I used to love listening to the 'sober folks' stories & be in awe of how they were able now to have a life without alcohol. It was without doubt, the catalyst for me to stop the madness.

I think we should all open up a bit more it would make for a more lively thread where we share experiences ?

Any thoughts?

have I REALLY gone from drinking every day ? - afraid not to - to almost 3 YEARS AF !!!
I just find it amazing ............ even yesterday my sister asked me in awe - HOW do you sit in a pub without drinking????

And if any other fecker asks me or my family "did she NEVER drink" I'll do time for them.
That is this country all over - looking for 'a story' behind someone's decision to not pour poison into them.

Well I for one will NOT give these people their story - and neither will my family or friends. I refuse to give them any information. Let them make it up - I ain't bothered
