Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-January 2018
Hi, Army. I suggested a book in the Newbies Nest yesterday and reread it for the third time last night. Each reading brings new insights. I wish I had known about it 5 years ago - it likely would have helped me make not quitting less of an agonizing big hairy deal. It really fits in with some of the ideas in the article Running Courage suggested yesterday. Anyway, for anyone interested in a quick and hopefully helpful read: Death Wish: The Path through Addiction to a Glorious Life: Steve Chandler: 9781625116: Amazon.com: BooksLast edited by NoSugar; January 8, 2018, 11:15 AM.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-January 2018
Thanks NS. I'll get it for young Satz. Anything you recommend is worth a look
He has read a stack of books.
All on his locker using 'The big Book' as a book-end
Russell Brand is someone I like - nuts - but I like him. Young Satz also likes him and has read his latest book 3 times.
Anyone read this ?

Well day 2 has been REALLY stressful. I think its just major anxiety. Substance abuse clinic promised to call back an despite a second call from me, still nothing. Finished up getting my old Doc to fax the new Doc in the hope of a script tomorrow....in the meantime I amdetermined but it would be so easy to go to the pub or the offy....
I'll get through it somehow but it aint easy today

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-January 2018
So far so good Tabbers. Been at school all day - and boy was a welcome thought not to have had to deal with even the mutest guilt if i'd had a single beer last night. With 15mins before first class, told that I was covering a class I don;t teach as the their teacher's dad had died, and then told that another teacher in the school was quitting so suddenly the HT is having to juggle all her staff to ensure all classes are covered. Also means I have more prep. But so be it. Nice to be in the work routine. That'll wear off by Wednesday no doubtOriginally posted by Tabbers (a.k.a. KTAB) View PostMorning all.
Well done Tony.
Welcome Seeker.
How are you doing RC?
Me too - I was out for a quick run this morning with the torch and the air was so clean. Despite the cold, the blue skies make up for it. It's when it's cold and driech and dark and snarly that I wished I lived a little further south. Like NZ.Originally posted by anon View PostGood afternoon Army. Great news Tony just keep it going. Hope all is ok RC?
Off to Liverpool for another birthday lunch. Very cold here -2 but bright and sunny. Love this sort of weather!
Will look this up NS.Originally posted by NoSugar View PostHi, Army. I suggested a book in the Newbies Nest yesterday and reread it for the third time last night. Each reading brings new insights.
