Evening all..

Mary - how long before the youngsters go back to school? I was always anxious for September to arrive so they'd go back to school and life could return to normal!!

Good to see you Stirls. Few weeks left. Mr M is off for the month so its helping enormously (and the lazy feckers are all horizontal snoring off their heads when I leave).

So now - my MO is to dress to the nines , dripping watches & jewellery ( tasteful of course ) - have my homework done & meet them on level playing field. It's the only way... .

100% for all situations, work, a big purchase, doctors etc. I mostly have no idea whats going on... heels, a good jacket and serious head nodding sorts that out.

Think its time for a lovely tonic water with ice and a slice...........any takers???

This has been my drink for the past year. I feel a bit more grown up than the kids, especially when we're out. Plus, its not as sweet as the usual choices.. which are generally crap.

Project garden is well under way, the jungle is no more and we are all knackered...

Molls - haha, aye Norn Oirish peeps can be a bit odd. Being half Norn Oirish... i canny relate to many of them! I find there's two kinds, with two voices/accents: those in the south - like in Belfast - whose accents can sound more shouty and end every sentence with "y'know?" And those from further north, around the Antrim Coast whose accents I adore - softer, lilting, musical. I'm biased as I have family along that coast and LOVE their soft accents and satirical humour.

Great to see you Stirls. I am off next weekend. We are not allowed to take any electronic equipement or even smart watches. Should be interesting!

Jax re the support or lack of it from families. One of Mr S colleagues tried to kill himself on Thurs and is now in hospital. One of the team went to visit him on Sat and he had not had any family visitors he was alone in hospital in a dementia ward with all his demons and the only visit he had was a work colleague. It is shameful and shocking and my heart goes out to him. Mr S is going to visit him next week

I always do my homework re anything medical or vet wise. I do not ever want to be on the back foot or at the mercy of doctors when I need them. I really only want them to prescribe and order tests. I used to have a doc who was a bit scared of me. She used to do as I asked all the time :haha:

Mary glad your garden project is coming along. Ours is a wreck again. Need to get the gardener back to work his magic. We just do not have the time or energy to do it.

I woke after a slightly dodgy nights sleep and with a headache. Cannot tell you how glad I am not to have been drinking and it be a hangover head!

Off work today & a bit jaded .... have to go collect mother & bring her somewhere.

My brother was acting the dick again the other night on WhatsApp.
I've told my sisters I think he's drinking. There's been a few hints there's a problem there.
I thought I was just blaming drink for everything but now I think I'm more clued in to spot them.
Late night "OK ! I'm going to say it right out - don't care who I offend" texts that come out of the blue.
Then like a pussycat next day.
'Off' the drink for a few weeks.

What yiz think ?

I only ever drink sparkling water when I'm out.

Just had the most divine winter day full of sun and early spring plantings. a lot of reading and cooking and all the great things that should happen on Sundays.

Bridge your day sounds fab (except the cooking ) My day is beautiful and warm and had a lovely walk with retriever dogger who went swimming. Lurcher dogger went with Mr S. Mr S has now gone off to a festival with his bro and dad (who is 82!) and I have the house to myself.....bliss

Yep a pisshead and hiding behind his phone.
I really want you to tell him to go feck himself..........but you're adults in an very adult position. Perhaps just a wee message to say that no conversation will be entered into when he's had a skinful or hungover.

For your lovely Mum.......take her to the zoo ( but bring her back) and then a nice carvery...........in fact I wouldn't mind that myself.

But I seem to be the target of his ire. Sly passive aggressive texts that upset everyone.

Haha!!!! My mum was so like that - could never have been accused of being airy fairy or into animals very pragmatic and down to earth!!! Funny with it tho! Maybe he is just stressed out with everything? I know Joe couldn't cope at all when his mum was in the coma and he didn't even get on with her - dunno why he'd aim it at you tho
