Can't imagine how a teacher wouldn't be full of angst and anxiety.. facing a classroom full of kids/teenagers/hoodlums ;-) - she'll be fine..

We're back now Mary - just off the ferry a coupla hours ago - had a truly fabulous few days - Wales really is lovely and the Welsh are so friendly - sort of like ourselves really - same sort of sense of humour anyway... there's counties in Ireland I've never been to Jackieclaire - and we are a TEENCHY wee country - so I wouldn't be ashamed not having been to Wales!! Thought we'd get our UK trips in before Brexit causes chaos with borders etc .. very sad really - we've only learnt in the last generation or so to be good neighbours!!!

Must get some grub

mollyka............nobody knows. We're remainers in this family and honestly even we just want them to get the blessed over and with. And to be honest that's why we brought some of Mr JC's private pension down early. Our house will be gorgeous.
Think I'll call for JC Mansions to be an independent state. Print our own currency on Aldi toilet paper and demand to see your passport at the front door.

Jenny survived her first day, prolly down to there being no kids, they start tomorrow.

The decorator will finish stripping tomorrow so now we've got to pin the plasterer down so the decorator can come back and finish doing what he started.

tonyniceday.....check in requirement needed.

byebyebridgetjones............oh the woman with her flower allotment. Loved her. Is your eye sore?

Couldn't get on yesterday afternoon/evening either. :goodjob: to whoever gets us going again.

Just spent half an hour helping Pa-in-law do his Sunday Times crossword. He doesn't believe in the internet. He has promised if he wins I can share the prize.......a dictionary.

Re: September Army Thread

Good morning everyone. Awake at silly o’clock but that’s ok as I still had 6 hours sleep. Sorry for those of you who have problems sleeping, find it hard to function when I have not had enough. Getting up soon to walk the doggies so thought I would check in.

Glad you enjoyed your time off Mary, nice to get back in routine too though. I am sure Jenny will be fine JC, first day nerves are the worst. Great you got the eye sorted Bridget and well done on avoiding the wedding. Welcome back Molly, I am another one who has never been to Wales. I have been ordering a few things through Amazon that I use parcel motel for delivery. Not sure what will happen to that if Brexit takes place. We had two lovely UK guides in the Dolomites this summer and again what will happen next summer, will they need working visas etc. Bit of a mess and the sooner it is sorted the better.

Has Satz left for Greece? and is Starty back from the beach? Hard to keep track of everyone. Work again today but that’s it for the week. Better get moving.

Good morning - thanks Rusters for the welcome back - yup you should have a look at Wales - I would say absolutely amazing for walkers like yerself - and so many trees -- the sun shone the whole time we were there and the sun coming down through the trees -- crikey it was gorgeous.

Heading off for a wee while now - on the way to the airport - hopefully will have internet when I get there... c ye on the flip side!!

Morning,
Started this ages ago then decorator arrived and we love a long chat before he starts, believe me, he can out-talk me .

There's been that many workmen over the last 8 months the neighbours prolly think I've opened a house of ill repute

Fell asleep reading with the light on and my neck's giving me gyp. Reading Adrian Mole, The Prostrate Years.

"no pockets in a shroud!! "..............I haven't heard that phrase in an age. But it was more or less what we were thinking.

I've seen Wales from a distance when we went to Devon.........does that count

Safe journey, Molls.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening All,
I've been to Wales! We used to go driving though there and stop at pubs. I don't think I had a problem at that stage. Seemed to be able to stop.
Are you a teacher Mary? Or you mean go back to another job?

Poor Jenny looking down the barrel of a room full of kids just back from holidays. Fresh and full of energy. Groan.

The eye is looking a lot lot better thanks all. I don't look cross-eyed and deranged any more. So that's nice. The drops himself gave me are the best yet. No red eye and going to work looking like a stoner.

I love the way you lot are all going on mini breaks. It must be nice having everything close enough to do that. I have to drive for 7 or 8 hours just to get out of my state. The short way. I remember packing up for trips when I lived in the UK. Going to the toilet three times, running my fluids down, packing food and water and books and music....then 40 minutes later we saw the sign for our destination and just gawped at each other. We were there already!

Still don't understand much about Brexit. Jeez Boris is popular isn't he? Lol.

Have a lovely time Molly.

I'm off to me beddy.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

byebyebridgetjones...........tbh we pack like that just for a day out. Going further than a hundred miles its like this .

Sounding good on the eye situation.

Decorator not long has gone and I had a covering on dust and bits of wallpaper. A shower has never been more needed.

Heard from Jenny and she's absolutely fine. Took all of 20 minutes to turn into a teacher again.

Re: September Army Thread

Good morning Troopers from Athens on what is going to be an absolutely gorgeous day. September is always the best month weather-wise and this year will be no exception. Warm sun, blue, blue sky and a slightly cool breeze! Wish I could send some of it to all of you!!!

byebyebridgetjones - glad to hear your orb is recovering. I had pink-eye a few years ago. Not a pretty sight. Thank goodness for modern medication!

JackieClaire - I went on hollingdays for 5 days and took half my closet and bathroom cupboard with me! You'd have thought I was going to be away for a month. Did I really need 4 pairs of fancy sandals, two pairs of flip-flops and a pair of slippers for 5 days and 4 nights? Not to mention three kinds of hair styling products and numerous little jars and bottles of face and body creams. You'd have thought I was going away for a month....
Glad to hear Jenny got back into the swing of things so fast!!

mollyka - great that you and Joe got to get away and explore new places. Sounds wonderful!!

IamMary - best of luck being back at work after your vacation. Ease into things as much as you can...

Hallo to rustop59!!

And where is tonyniceday, satz123 and starty ! Time to check in guys!!

Wishing you all a smashing day!!! inkele:

Good morning Stirly. Good to see you back and enjoy the great weather. Becoming very autumnal here. A few of them gallivanting. Satz is going to Greece, Starty had been at the beach. Think Molly said she is going again. tonyniceday, please check in.

Glad you are getting the eye sorted Bridget. How does it feel to be back at work Mary? One thing I will say for Ryanair JC, it taught us to pack lightly. Off for my mammogram this morning, ugh but has to be done. Catch up later.

ToeKnee - JC got me Nytol ( not herbal) and I found them great.

Not sure where my poor little Rosie is going for the week 'cos YS not here anymore & may have a job. My (nice) SIL in Skerries will be in Crete too ........
It's a worry - I've heard too many horrible kennel stories. She well socialised but still really a puppy

I used to dump the kids on anyone who'd take them :haha: ( but they could talk and tell what was up .....

Morning,
mollyka......had to do a google of Ephesus.............first search came up with restaurant just up the road. :egad: The proper place (when I eventually found it) is gorgeous.

satz123.........I'll do it. I'll have to register Bess as a service dog as she'll have to come. We're at the vets for her 6 month check-up tonight. She's amazing for 15 years old but we're also aware that she'll not be with us much longer.

stirly-girly.........that's my kind of packing. Counted seven pairs of trousers (admittedly I thought two pairs were sweat-shirts) and I was panic packing. We were only there 4 nights. But two pairs of shorts for Scotland.....you need to cover your legs anyway because of the midges......really, I mean really.

Today we're getting a new dining room table to be delivered. Got it for £100 from a charity shop and its amazing and they're taking the old one away..........a win, win situation. I've been stuck indoors for two days already with the decorator........I'll be like a kid at the end of term tomorrow when I can escape these four walls.

If I missed someone, apologies, and waves.
