Might have a word with the blind man.........he's not actually blind he's the person that sells them.
Like both the ideas Stirls & Satz.
Now that's some thing I've never heard off stirly-girly. Talk later eh?

What have I done.

I just stick old newspaper on the windows until I've decided.

Ach, Satzy - have to disagree with you here. I find Roman blinds very boring. Even when they're done in a stripe or print fabric. Basically they're just a flat piece of fabric when they're closed. Nothing like lovely draping for a window. IMVHO, of course. I like something with a twist to it so this caught my eye - 61HZIiHITfL._SR500,500_.jpg

Love that pink, Sugar. My bedroom is done in that colour with white and pale mint green. Very relaxing yet refreshing at the same time....

Evening ladies. Love the colour schemes. I just painted en-suite bathroom a pale grey. Got dusty pink towel and matts but need to replace blind. You have given me ideas. Afraid I have never heard of no sense of smell in a child. Hope they get it sorted, it’s very hard having something wrong with a child.

Working week over, Pilates’s tonight. On a hiking trip for weekend. Lucky you Mary, what a lovely treat after marathon. Good luck by the way.

You know you're all darlings don't you.
I've got navy blue, white and grey in the bathroom.
BTW loving all the suggestions. Just shown Mr JC some I really, really like and he said did you realise they're the same as the ones in our bedroom. Doh!!!!
I shall wait 'til the paint has dried and hope a muse comes upon me. We've got some lovely pictures and prints to go up so I'll work round them.

My hair is now 'steel silver' -- (bit dark but it'll fade) and we get the car back tomorrow!!! happy days! busy today so going to bed with Downton ;-) talk later xx

oh -- the no smell thing... it rings a bell.. and I really don't know with who or what - but I think Jilly will know or remember -- I'll ask her tomorrow and I'll get back to you..

@stirlygirly - on the no sense of smell issue. Like Molls something stirred when I thought about it.
I was talking to someone & they casually said they had no sense of smell. Didn't seem to affect them too much.
From what he said : The plus side is, as it's linked to taste, she will never be a fussy eater - it will just be fuel - something we do to keep alive - not an obsession.

I don't think it's the worst thing in the world Stirls and apparently kids don't even notice till school age when other kids describe a smell

And sure isn't school where we all get a wake up call that everyone is not the same ?

Morning,
Haven't a clue why I'm up this early. Think I'm over excited about getting out of the house for a few hours.
stirly-girly............I've got more questions than answers about the sense of smell.
How did they find out?
Is it all smells or different ones?.............I only ask as Jenny BF has a kind of colour blindness where he can't differenciate between blues and greens. So did my dad.

Good morning Ladies of the Army!!

Another lovely day in Stirly-World - blue, blue sky with little puffy clouds and weather warmishly cool.

You're right about it not being the worst thing in the world but as I said earlier, she's the lass that was born with no fingers on her right hand and they've been through a lot over that - psychologically and emotionally. She's had two surgeries, one of which didn't succeed, and she's already "different" from the other kids at school because of her hand. And you know how cruel kids can be. Anyway, I guess it's just one more thing they'll have to deal with. Acceptance is the main thing IMVHO and that's one thing that I think her Mom has not been able to deal with yet. And don't think I'm criticizing here. It's just that she was devastated when her daughter was born "different" and there is a remaining "bitterness" about her (for lack of a better word) and now this is yet another way that the child will be different from others. I guess when life throws us curve-balls, we just have to have a bigger bat!

Must get back to business - wishing you all as great a day as you can make it! inkele:

Ah, X-post Jackie, dear.

I don't know how they discovered it. But apparently she has no sense of smell - not for perfumes, cleaning products, even when she goes to the bathroom (trying to be delicate here). I haven't had time to talk to him - only found out about it yesterday in a rather quick conversation that we had. Of course, one of the first things they check for is a brain tumor and luckily that is not the case. I suppose she could have been born that way and they never realized it til now. I have questions myself - about her sense of taste, etc., but they will have to wait. You have to be very, very careful questioning older son about anything, otherwise he can take things the wrong way. Like you think you know everything or you're interfering, things like that. I'll find out next week after they've seen the specialist. It's just that it's upsetting for me that they have to deal with another "different" issue with their child. Funny that Ads and your Dad had the same sight issue.

Um, er, I wouldn't buy those curtains even as a joke. Lord, they'd give me nightmares even if I loved the Minions.... :egad: Too many peeps watching me!!
