Maybe Clif will let you have a bar next year?Originally posted by techie View PostHello Army. I need to share an ultimate irony. I have been competing in elite triathlon events for 20+ years. Two years off due to the poison. I now have a sponsor for the 2020 Malibu Triathlon. First time I’ve ever been approached by a company. Clif Bar. Not sure Clif Bars are even a thing outside the USA? The perks: Free five star hotel, food expenses, free equipment, and huge bucks if I finish in my class. The irony? It’s going to be canceled due to COVID-19. The story of my life. Love you all xIf your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Serious lag time here but I'll give it a crack.
Laughing about JCs excitement re her rhubarb.
haven't started using the MSM yet Fickle so can't report back but it is very reasonably priced.
Good on you for sticking it to them Satz. It can't be any worse than they bung on. I have two interviews on Tuesday alone, so the work is out there, you just have to be a bit wily-and put the work in on your resume.
i think I might try again later and see if it speeds up a bit in here.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Good for you -- who knows - they may realise how appallingly they have treated you and re-think the 'arrangements'? I hope you stuck it to them anyway -- bit of self satisfaction?Originally posted by satz123 View PostSent an email - resigned.
Thy can stick their 8 hours a fecking week up their collective bums.
Plenty of jobs out there - paying peanuts - but with management who treat people with respect.
But I may hold out for dr Dreamy
I do remember it -- I remember it very well and probably will to the day I die -- in my case it was cold - lonely and full of dark thoughts - I will never EVER re-visit those times as long as I remember them. I feel for you Tabs - I really do -- I'm curious - if you're reading -- what was the thought process to go back drinking after a year? I know in the scheme of things it's not an eternity - but it IS a long distance from alcohol and the lifestyle of drinking? Could it be that you don't REALLY want to quit - maybe control it a bit? I think an analysis of those feelings (or lack of - could be just 'carelessness'?) would be informative and potentially valuable to any of us who may drift into the 'I'm ok' mindset?Originally posted by Tabbers (a.k.a. Obviously that's not a 'demand' for info Tabs -- purely a topic of conversation that would help us all!! Great to see you our boy -- you DO know that this place IS allaboutme.com -- that's why we're here -- so..........?????

byebyebridgetjones.............I am doing three in a row because its taking eons to get one post through.
The rhubarb thing................its either too expensive or non-existence. I get the feeling that its like gold for us up in the NE of England. Would you believe I had Bess out one day and a bloke walked past with a bag full of rhubarb and showed me his hawl............I didn't know him from Adam .............and he tipped me the wink to say there was masses growing wild on a new housing developement near to me not to tell anyone
It must have magical and mystic powers to be that special. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: International Army July 2020
Good morning everyone. Well done Satz, hope you gave them an earful in the email. Love to see you back Tabs and it should be all about you. Share if you feel like it, we would benefit us all. That’s great about the interviews Bridget, hope you get the job of your dreams, you too Satz. Had a laugh at the story about the rhubarb JC. There is a wild one that grows here in parts of the country but it is huge and very invasive.

What do you do with rhubarb (other than pie)? JC. I have 3 big plants.
Good for you not putting up with disrespect, Satz.
It should be all about you, KTab. That’s how a forum like this works. Do you ever go back and read your thread? I do. I think it is one of the most powerful, beautifully written ones on MWO. https://www.mywayout.org/community/g...me-coming.htmlLast edited by NoSugar; July 10, 2020, 05:54 AM.

Re: International Army July 2020
Jacks -- I have rhubarb coming out my ears.. it is RAMPANT in the poxy garden - and everytime I see a new crop of big thick stalks I get the guilts that I should be 'doing' something with it. I've made crumbles, tarts, jams, fools, cakes, muffins and back in the dark old days -- - a seriously good wine... not ONE of which would qualify as non or low sugar tho' I'm afraid NS... it's very tart - unless you leave it to within an inch of going 'off' there's a bit of natural sugar there then... oh - it makes a wonderful sauce to go with lamb or duck --- but again -- also with some sugar... really too sour imo to do a lot.....Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: International Army July 2020
mollyka..........come to think of it, I've always been told wild rhubarb was poisonous. Oddly enough haven't seen that bloke for over a year
We can't grow anything edible in our garden. The ground is clay-based.............we've tried, have we tried. The raspberry experiment cost us about £15 per raspberry after four years. Fifth year we pulled the beggars out. My Ma & Pa had a huge garden and never really bought veg from a shop. And a green house. I'd look up and see my dad's car and know fine well he was brining around another ton of tomatoes........aww I've gone all nostalgic. I don't half miss him.
I do grow runner beans in pots with compost...........they're my fave.
NoSugar.................its in the oven now. Problem was I had no ginger or lemon so used nutmeg and lime. And the kitchen looks like a bomb's dropped.
Rhubarb oat crumble recipe - All recipes UK
Oh yes there was rhubarb wine, blackberry wine, blackcurrent wine, elderflower wine and home made beer at the parents..........but my Dad got over 25 years sobriety eventually

How was the crumble JackieClaire? We always had it growing up too, grows on top of your head in these parts.. I was given a jar of banana and date chutney today - wasn't expecting it to be so good..
Ah no Techie! thats awful. Yes we do have Clif bars here, I have munched my way through many during training and marathons. Although my menu is usually just Galaxy minstrels (they don't melt) and tailwind. And the odd Jaffa cake.
Good for you. I hope your snapped. I think there will be opportunity for all sorts of new jobs now - in the schools for example.. they cant reopen without more help.Originally posted by satz123 View PostSent an email - resigned.

Off to Galway tomorrow for a few days to catchup with my brother and his gang, just incase we are locked down again!
Spent half the day in the hairdressers this morning. In fairness, she had her work cut out for her. Between the highlighting papers and the mask, you could hardly tell there was a person in there, as I suffocated slowing for 3.5 long hours. Pride feels no pain....AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:
