Re: International Army August 2020
Cross-post Satzeroonie. Yep, I heard that too. That's why they told us we wouldn't have too much of a problem here in the summer but to expect another wave in the fall. Yeah right. 200 new cases per day now. What will we have in October and through the winter - 1000 cases a day??Originally posted by satz123 View PostFor every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Re: International Army August 2020
Actually, I just checked yesterdays figures and there were 235 new cases so they are on the rise.
This is the site Coronavirus Update (Live): 2,82,287 Cases and 747,476 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer
Ireland is at # 64 and Australia #69, UK #12 and Greece #99. The countries are listed according to the total number of cases. If you want to check at this time of the day - go for yesterday's numbers as today's totals will not be in for about 12 hours. Except for countries in the lower hemisphere....For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Re: International Army August 2020
Went for a hike to Lough Dan yesterday in Wicklow. Gorge.
After a sweaty trek it opens up to what I can only describe as a glacial lake with a tiny beach. Fabulous.
We had Rosie & a very sober YS in tow.
Had a picnic on the 'beach' & YS and Rosie swam.
All very idyllic until I had to climb up the side of the shaggin' mountain to get back - thought my lungs would burst.
Suppose 30 years of smoking has to take it's toll ?
On the way up- steep & sweaty - YS went ahead. I had to stop and MrS says to this woman with kids & her brother (we found out later), “call an ambulance” they all laughed
. We were talking to them for ages about the place, Cavachons etc. We got to YS & he said did you see Sharon Horgan He was star struck - us two were oblivious to who she was till he told us.:haha:
A lovely day all & all.

Absolutely beautiful, Satzy! I lurve discovering things like that!!! Bestest part - sober YS!!!Originally posted by satz123 View PostWent for a hike to Lough Dan yesterday in Wicklow. Gorge.

Well, I'm pretty sure you won't have much of a problem there. They don't tell us where the most cases are but I'm betting it's a lot like what Jackie described. Low income people living in cramped quarters (and illegal immigrant centres) who have the highest concentration of the virus. Average of 50 cases here in the province of Attica which includes Athens and the surrounding areas. Not much considering that it's a city of over 3 million....Originally posted by satz123 View PostJesus Stirls will ye get your act together over there - I want to go to Greece in 4 weeks. Anyway - I'm sure you'll be fine in your beloved town of Assos! For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Re: International Army August 2020
I think every alkie goes through that, Bridge. What they don't realize, and we didn't at the time, is that you when you get to the stage that AL controls you and your life, that it is in your thoughts 24-7, that you aren't giving up something that is good, you are giving up something that is holding you back. What you are doing by giving it up is freeing yourself. That feeling of relief and freedom was to me the main factor. No AL buzz can ever, ever match that feeling after the years and years of being imprisoned in a bottle.Originally posted by byebyebridgetjones View PostI went through the skittery 'Oh no, NEVER? Never drink EVER AGAIN. Gah!' stage. I could not give a rat's now if I never see another bottle in my life. Means nothing. If I was just about to give up, I'd want to hear that. It would make me feel better.

Still got Jenny, Ads and a lot less manic Buddy the Beagle. They're off to Rothbury shortly.
There will be an erection in the garden later on.................we're putting up the tent. Jenny & Ads are taking it back to York and hoping to get away for a few days before term starts.
Mr JC's got the day off so we're going to Tesco..............they don't half est a lot.It could be worse, I could be filing.

All we have now is a pop-up tiny tent for Rosie that we forgot to bring to the 'beach' yesterday. :stupid:Last edited by satz123; August 13, 2020, 07:18 AM.

Re: International Army August 2020
The erection didn't happen.....it was raining.....but we did get the all the blessed camping stuff out of the loft and it'll be on its way to York tomorrow when Jenny & crew go home. I can't see us ever needing it again.
I'll be sad to see them go.
Exam results for the 17/18-year-olds today. Ads crew didn't do too bad. My cousin's son got 4 A's which means he'll be off to Leeds to do Economics..........although Universities are still up in the air about how they'll teach.
And its a nighty night from moi too. :hug:It could be worse, I could be filing.
