Re: Army July 2021

I was so lucky when I saw my doctor with this quit ....................he was actually just a locum during the summer holidays at my doctor's practice..........perhaps he was either one of us or it had impacted on his family or perhaps I was ready. He knew his stuff. And he'd read an article in the Guardian about MWO the weekend before and it told me to use it. He was such a lovely person and didn't give a flying feck that our appointment overran. I'll never forget him or his kindness.

There'll be no Copeland for Jenny & Ads. Marks and Spencer is about as far as they can afford.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

rustop59.........so sorry you missed out on the house but glad you got some time with your SIL.
Its only just over two years since we got rid of the cupboard at the bottom of the stairs...............and we both said 'now we've got room for a stair lift'. We're going nowhere unless we win the lottery.

The refurb starts or should I say re-starts on Thursday when Keith (the plasterer) arrives.

Right, that's three in a row so I'll shut my mouth and say goodnight.

Don't do that JackieClaire, I love the chatter :happy2:
You were all correct, good sleep and we were all full of the joys today.
I was in an actual pub this evening (pretending to be residents of a hotel. My sister & husband were).. was lovely actually, quiet and airy.

Mr S had his wedding suit made in Louis copeland. The grooms was rented. He got a good few weddings out of that suit (other people's!).
Pity about the house Rustop, there will be many more. I love house hunting, even if its just for a holiday!

I'd say you hit the nail on the head molly about YS and the wedding.. very sad Satz and I'm sure DD does not want you guys to be on eggshells all day worried about him. She won't be able to relax either.
My dad's friend relapsed on our wedding. He drove to our house (marquee job) and we found the vodka in 7up bottles the next day. He just passed out on the night, minor drama, but the sneaky bottles always stuck with me, especially when I started having my own secret stash a few years later.

Off to a Fort tomorrow and a sheep dog demonstration

Oh, you girls. I really feel for you. Family are such a blessing, and such a pain in the A some time. I wonder if these kids will grow up and be sorry for the crap they've put you through, like we all did.

I must Google this Gummidge character that I keep hearing so much about JC.

Mary, don't you find that it always takes a couple of days (at least) to settle into a holiday and change gears? It must be the same for kids I reckon.

Lovely photo Techie and a good looking couple. I don't think I've ever had a designer outfit. Just your classic mid range work wear and then my trackies of course!

Today began the inaugural part time week. I cannot even believe how much I got done today. This is going to be one of my best moves ever.

I love looking at houses Rustop. I bet you'll have a ball on your break just doing that.

byebyebridgetjones...........although it was a children's programme I used to love Worzel Gummidge.

I know that most of you have prolly seen it but we started watching Good Omens last night. Its fab.

Two sleeps before cataract removal. The surgeon is the one that did my left eye and he's wonderful.

IamMary.......enjoy your sheepdogs. My brother has two although he hasn't got any sheep.

nah -- don't bother -- Louis Copeland makes (albeit very nice ones) suits that cost a fortune - and if you wanna be posh it has to be Louis Copeland...
This wedding will be very low key and relaxed - none of the usual shite of doves & chocolate fountains.
Apparently Groom to be has all his life wanted a LC suit.
Neither of them are in the first flush of youth - like we were Molls :haha: both have good paying jobs - so they want some class ..... specially as the numbers are restricted to 50.
MrS will NEVER recover having seen the cost of the suits on the rail.

Bride to Be had to go with him to stop her Dad giving out :hahaha:

Joe's question EVERY time we are in Brown Thomas's --- and he's not being a smart arse - he genuinely means it -- he looks at a price tag and whispers 'how many zero's are on that?

they are right to do what they want to do - I wasn't in the slightest criticising her or her wedding -- what I will endlessly criticise is an estimated 100 - 150k spent on my colleagues daughters wedding... it was disgusting -- the bit I couldn't get over (I've probably regaled ye all with this too) was the bride and mum (my pal) went to the Castle to check last minute details -- the daughter didn't like the chair covers so insisted on buying about 300 chair covers at a cost of over 10k --

arrgggghhh -- ignore me -- I'm a curmudgeon

Evening everyone.. just in from work so very tired -- off to Ballymascanlon House Hotel tomorrow -- just for a night - it's my birthday present to Jilly and we will bring Tilly so a little girlie outing -- looking forward to it actually -- I feel really mean saying this - cos I know he's in pain - but it's exhausting living with Joe at the moment - I actually have to be NICE all the time!!!! ah bless him - he'll enjoy a day or two to himself too I'm sure... nothing worse than feeling poorly and having to be sociable -- even with your wife!!
I'm off to bed -- good luck with the cataracts Jacks tho I'm sure I'll be talking with you before that - night all xx

That is so stupid. Most weddings these days are such a waste of money - including my DDs. Really don't know who they want to impress. Can't tell MrS though that I agree with him - or he'll start again:haha:

Molls - I should know but what has Joe in such pain? I think I missed it ?
Don't feel bad Molls ..... it's normal to want a break. Being nice for long periods is truly draining ......

Go off now with you and enjoy the break

Morning and waves to the universe,
My ops actually tomorrow so I've got just one more big sleep. Tomorrow's another big day for me I'll be 12 years alcohol-free.

We actually went for a drive to see where I'm having it done. I didn't know that we had a specialist eye hospital the last one was just done in the General hospital. Then we picked up a Chinese take-out.

Weddings.......... these days its all about 'venues'.............remember back in the day it was either church or a registry office. Jenny has booked her venue.....they're not getting married 'til Aug 2022.......got it dirt cheap because of the pandemic and all kinds of stuff thrown in for free. I'm just going to do what I'm told but I'll be getting a new hat.

mollyka.........enjoy your mini-break. It'll do you the world of good a wee break.

Re: Army July 2021

Why are we all so tired then? Is it going around on this thread? I'm watching only one (1) garden show before passing out in the pit tonight.

I think we've buggered ourselves for coming out of lock down this week. Don't think the cases will be down far enough, so we all have to go to our rooms again. I don't care about that but I would like to go to the nursery and get some little plant friends to keep me company. I had a fight with an idiot in Woolworths tonight who was sans mask and approached from behind. I said Get a mask on, you flog. We'll never crawl out of lock down at this rate. Then there was a prof footballer who had a party FFS. Lost his job and it serves him right.

Don't start me on weddings. That flipping girl with the seat covers in the castle when there's starving people in the world! That one time I was a bridesmaid was enough for me. Card carrying Bridezilla she was. We all had to have poofy dresses in a colour called 'Petrol' and walk out in time to bloody Celine Dion. It was a nightmare so I responded by starting a shot drinking and arm wrestling competition out the back of the manor house until 3am. Bride's mother won that one. School Principal she was.

Is it eyeball day today, JC? Good luck!

Joe can have a nice rest and sit around in his tracky dacks watching sport. Have a fun girls w/e Molly.

Hi everyone! Exhausted as been out all day walking around Chirk. Only 10 miles but loads of ups and downs.

Everyone went to the pub after the walk, however me and a few friends went to a lovely coffee shop where I discovered Fentemans Rose Lemonade.

Grief comes and overwhelms me at times but I am so glad of good friends and being able to get out in the Welsh hills.

My cataract surgery is on Friday as I had to put it off while looking after Mr A.

Love to you all !!

Post Covid malaise. A recent report showed 57% felt the pandemic had an adverse impact on their health. I consider myself part of that metric.

You have that right Techie, think we are all part of the metric. We will need a sick bay in the army. Didn’t realize you were getting your eye done too Brit, good luck with it. Glad you are able to get out walking. It really is what keeps me sane.

Working week over so feet up now catching up on shows. Have any of you watched Murder in the cottage yet? Very sad and raises as many questions as it answers. For the non Irish it is about the murder of a French woman in West Cork and the murderer has never been caught.
