Super Sober Shout Out, Sunday March 27, 2022

I'd like to see a big SUPER SOBER SHOUTY OUTY from members who have been here a while, those starting out again or those just starting out for the very first time.........don't forget to shout LOUD AND PROUD!

Don't be shy and give it a try, remember each and every one of us here started with a day one!!!!

SHOUT IT LOUD AND SHOUT IT PROUD. STAY STRONG AND KEEP THINKING POSITIVE ONE AND ALL. LET'S GIVE OUR BEST TOGETHER

By using the time and date app........ you'll know whether you've a roundy number or not a roundy number..........Date Duration Calculator: Days Between Dates

For me (Sunday) it is 2630 days from the start date to the end date, or 7 years, 2 months, and 14 days including the end date.
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Trying hard to stay sober today. Thanks for your post abcowboy. Every antecedent you can imagine is present today: tiredness from work, tiredness from lack of sleep, lack of any real direction (probably due to low quality sleep for days). Just feeling blahh. Think I am about day 10 of the quit. Sugar is still going. Sleep quality has been very poor (tossing, turning, body temperature issues, shallow sleep). I only seem to get one REM sleep every 4-5 days. Is this normal?

The only thing stopping me is knowing that "one drink" (and I mean one) will lead to the same old, same old and chaos. I also have a medical appointment tomorrow and would hate to go with a hangover.

I think I need to eat a proper meal and see if my mood improves.

Anyhow, happy Sunday everyone. I hope you're all doing well. It's a lovely sunny day here today.
One day at a time.. Sometimes it's one minute or one second at a time.. Most important thing is to look ahead and don't look back!

3 years, 8 months, and 5 days

I’ve heard of a lot of people having trouble sleeping in the first few weeks of the quit, Change. And yes, a good proper meal can make a big difference. Congratulations on getting this far into your final quit!

Change, i had awful sleep patterns and a headache that lasted about 5 weeks. i tried to sleep when i was tired as if i held off, i until sleep time, i didnt sleep. be gentle on yourself. you poured al into your body for years and it is healing and i can guarantee it will with time. Dont go back to the vicious cycle of drinking, i know you wont!

Change...........bless your heart. Think Ava put it beautifully.........we didn't become alcoholics over night so its going to take a bit of time. Please, stay with it...............it gets better.,much better
Make little meals that can be grabbed, sleep when you can. I was all over the place those first couple of months. If you knit start a scarf it may be two miles long when you're finished but it keeps your hands busy.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Chance ............Agree with Ms JC have meals ready + goodies. Treat yourself - any ideas about restricting food - FORGET them. One thing at a time.
First few weeks I had a ball eating things I'd stupidly denied myself. Fill yourself up - and alcohol tends to be less inviting.

ONE drink will of course bring you back to that chaos Change
Every time you think you might 'have one' - play the video forward & see the ending. It will always be the same - you know that - we all know that.
