Great to log on and see all you guys back. Glad the new job is going good Teardrop. As East said do like the rest of us concentrate on getting as many AF days as you can and gradually it will become the way you live, well thats what I'm hoping for!! Having my blood tests for the cholestral done next Wednesday. It's a great incentive not to drink because it seems Al can affect your count. Another good reason to give him up!! My liver ones came back ok so thats a relief but I know Al cannot continue to be part of my life if I want to live a longer and fuller life.

Good luck with the workmen East. It's never ending in a house. You do one thing and there is always something else that needs doing. I'm very pleased with how the two rooms with the new floors turned out and am in the middle of a big clean out so its back to work for me.

Just come down for a tea break from the loftroom, Builders will be starting in that room on monday and working their way down! You have a great memory Teardrop, they were here last christmas too! Glad to see that the job going well, I always say to Mr East that we should live above Tesco's the amount of time I spend there! Try not to stress on it not altering your drinking patterns, you will get there, and at Xmas well its madness at the supermarkets. You will be too exhausted when you get home.( either that or arms like a crab Builders just painting this time and taking up old carpets.Its shuffling all the furniture around. When we decided to redecorate, son was not at home so we now have more stuff and not another spare bedroom to put it like we thought! Still would not be without him
Managed to get rid of loads of stuff on Ebay, which also has kept me busy in the last couple of weeks but made some cash:goodjob: just what is needed this time of year.
Sweetpea great to see you posting again hope everything going well for you.
Must say Rustop all your decorating news inspired me but colour schemes well I am so indecisive! I had not idea that Al affected Cholesterol, Hope that all your tests go well you have worked so very hard on your AF this year.

Well we are back to that very busy time of year when al rears his ugly head at every trick and turn - I have had some af time but need to be very vigilant that he doesn't get his ugly claws into me and get me back to my old ways

Teardrop great to hear of your new job :greatjob2:roud: you have done really well. Once you manage to get into a place like Tesco's you will find that it will be really good on your cv if you ever want to do something different. As you say working on the checkout you only have to deal with one customer at a time - so much better than being on the other side of the till stressing if you have remebered everything - So well done and do enjoy the job which will help you in your fight against al

Rustop, no, I didn't know that al could affect your colesterole level - great news that your liver test went ok though which I think will indicate that your coleterole level shouldn't be altered too much by what you have drank in the past

Here I am again - been biging once a week and it leaves me wrecked. I get 5 days or 6 days then I drink - lots of excuses - work stress, split up with boyfriend of four years five weeks ago and just moved house . hope you are all doing better than me.

East...How could i forget about ur builders last year we all had a laugh about it i hope this lot of workmen are a lot quicker in there job at hand then the ones last year...
Rustop.....Just today just today i will not drink..
Sweetpea .....The only thing i dont like about the job i on sturday evenings everyone is buying AL have to be very careful who i sell it to. They have to look 21 well saturday just gone i ask to guy for ID he was not very happy about it he had no ID on him he though i was joking had to call the manager. no matter what the manager has to stand by you on this one. the guy was in 30year old...But i know people can look 10years younger well i use to look 10years young not sure about now. I wish the age was 25 like america...the guy said sorry to me but im only doing my job i could end up with a fine of six thousand pounds.

ive been drinking for over 4weeks now and i dont like what it doing to me i had to delete something the other day on a different thread because i feel so a shame of myself i hope not a lot of people read it and it was the only one person. i need to STOP,,, AL does different things to me that i dont like.

Well, the start of another week and it is indeed the beginning of the crazy season. I'm afraid I dont buy into all the materialistic side of it and hate, hate, hate going near the shops when they are crowded. Will get what I need this week and then sit back. Have lots of cleaning to do but will feel better when I am on top of things. The office is now finished, spare bedroom, garage, daughter number two's bedroom. Am still trying to finish daughter number one's but getting there. Going to a really nice craft fair on Thursday so looking forward to that. Hope to get most of my Christmas gifts at it.

Welcome fjones, getting 5/6 days is great, dont be too hard on yourself. I used to drink practically every single day before I came to MWO and now its 90% AF. Am trying to get as much AF time in before xmas itself. Last night was AF and so will be today.

Hope you are feeling a bit better East. All that is going on in my house is cosmetic stuff. We did the real (builder) stuff about 5 years ago and I am suffering from a severe allergic reaction since. You are very,l very brave to have them in the house at all. Hate to break it to you but the dust never goes away!! its still here and now I dont have the excuse of Oh its just the builders dust. Now its just me never being at home to do a real clean!!

As some of you may know I have been trying to loose weight for the past few months and officially reached my target today. One full stone in two months. I am really pleased and all my clothes look much better. Keeping Al at bay really helped and its a great incentive not to over indulge over the Christmas. Had my bloods done again this morning and will find out in about 10 days what they are. It's been a tough year but I am glad that I took the bull by the horns and began to do some positive stuff for myself in October. Gradually I WILL GET THERE and so too will all of you, whatever your goals.

Feeling a bit angry today try to ring my bro up had to go to his house but not there since yesterday. the other day he had a cheque that was stop by his boss the amount was over a thousand.( he does not work there at the moment because not much work)..so i can understand my bro getting angry. He needed that money, anyway he went down to the building site to see his boss to see why he stop the cheque and of cause to get the money he owes him....The thing is i give him his saving book (but there i no money in there only2pounds) so he could put the money away straight away... he was going to go to get the cheque change straight away into cash u have to pay extra money to do this...so now im thinking his piss it up or loss his money or got in trouble through his temper or could be at the police station.
Fu@k i feel like im looking after a 8year old here. im wondering if anyone on this site does anyone look after there money for them???? i know there was a guy at my group session where his mum look after his money but it was not for that long .it been 9 bloodly months now with my bro and it getting me down .... sorry to go on.

Formally Gator, unable to log in. Got a DUI in April (spent my only night in jail). My wife left me in November. Laid off work in November. The perfect storm. I don't know what the hell to do. I'm looking for work and trying to get back with the wife. She's seven years older than I am and we've come to different objectives in our lives. We're working on our marriage, but don't know what will become of it. I'm 33 and want children, at least one, and my wife (who's 40) and I haven't been able to have one. She left me and I'm wondering if this is a blessing in disguise. Maybe I have time to find a wife who loves me and is able to have children with me. Anyway, this is a dream right now as my drinking is out of control. I'm so miserable right now and broke (let go from my job). I'm looking, but there's not much hiring in the States right now for stock brokers, lol. Ah, well, if my parents weren't still alive there'd be an easy way out.

First of all i like to :welcome: you aboard, you have come to the right place here the people here will always give out great advice and support ......Got to say this but you sound like my brother really he was in the police station wednesday night and thursday because he miss his last train and was drunk and cause trouble ( not like me i just go all quiet well most of the times) lucky he was not charge well i think so. He also finds it hard to get work but through the help of me and my sister taking control of his money he has paid his water rates and all his other bills plus got a fridge and washing machine which he was without for 7months. I dont think it makes a different if the parents are alive this is something we have to do for how self if we really want it....you know there is always someone out there for someone but i think right now concentrate on you getting sober and geting in control you can do this i know it hard when you cant get work and have little money because i can see what it like with my brother. keep posting and reading.....Good luck and start of with ODAT.

Well i was right about my bro, boss write out another cheque but he ask him to write out two one small amount and the rest he did put in his saving but the small amount he change it into cash. The think is his doing so well better then me really in the drinking department. Not sure how long i can control his money. my sister come up with an idea to get him a trolley and the next wage can go into my sister account and he can take the trolley to her and she can do his shopping and she will take over for a while and give me a break.

Hi Kenebunkport and :welcome: Have you downloaded the book yet? If not, I'd recommend that as a starting point and then as Teardrop says take it ODAT. Once you get some alcohol free time under your belt you will be able to think clearer.

Glad your sister is giving you a break Teardrop. You need to concentate on you at the moment that should be your number one priority. Do what you can for your brother but remember to think of yourself too.

Busy as usual, doing a lot of chauffering. One daughter is in a musical and has rehersals every night this week. Will be glad when it is all over.

I am so sory that I have not been posting very much. I came down with a horrible cold/viral thing and have been completely knocked off my feet. Trying to get ready for Christmas and everything else I such seem to have no energy or inclination for anything. I will try and be a better pea and get back into cheer leading mode as quickly as possible but you may have to wait till the new year before I can post regularly. BUT always know you are all always in my thoughts and prayers

Kenebankport I am so sorry that you are having such a bad time of it. As Rustop said have you downloaded the book yet. Christmas is such a really hard time for all of us that have a problem with al but know that you have the support of the Firecrackers and you are in our thoughts. The credit crunch is ruining so many peoples lives. I really hope some work comes your way very soon
