out of rehab after 5 months
Not sure if I should name the place but it was part of a programme(no not a typo thats how we spell it in the .u.k. from the Montana dept of chemical addiction.
The place I was in not only helped me stay sober but I now live in a sober living apartment that is also part of this place it is a lovely apartment only for years old and very, very affordable.
How did I do it? I have imersed myself in the recovery programme(there's that word again I attend 3 to 4 meetings a week. I also read "The Grapevine" everynight before sleep and I found a great book called "The recovery book" I think it is a must read for any alcoholic or addict. it cost $15 at Walden books. I also do a lot of mindful exercises and keep a positive attitude. Even if you dont feel positive act like you are and this will fool your sub consience(?) to think you are (I know sounds a little hooky but it does work) try it what do you have to lose?

Sure you can say where you went. Others might want to check it out too! Are you talking Montana as in the US or UK?
So tell me how you keep this positive attitude....I'm having some real problems with that.Noelle sez "Do want you like, like what you do. Life is Good."

I have heard good things about "sober living" apartments. They say it really takes a year and if you can stick it out that long you are in very good shape with an excellent prognosis for lifetime sobriety.
You should be very proud of yourself!Patience has its limits. Take it too far, and it's cowardice.

out of rehab after 5 months
Day 170
I will ask the rehab place if it is ok to post the name I have to consider confidentialty with this.
A little about me.
I grew up in Liverpool England and came to the U.S. in 1978 when I married a Texas girl.
We were married for 20 years ( the break up was due to my drinking, I can admit that now)
I have one son Ryan who I have not seen in 4 years or heard from in 2 years.
He and his mother moved and did not get there new address to me before I moved here to Missoula MT.
I have tried to no avail to find him.
I did locate an uncle of his mothers but he had not seen her in 3 years.
I have been asked to share how I stay sober.
I admit I am powerless over alcohol and that I have a disease(this is very important)
Since leaving rehab I have imersed myself in learning as much about my disease as I can.
I make 3 to 4 meetings a week. I have a sponser and am working on the steps.
I read anything I can about addiction, and I also go to group once a week.
This works for me I hope you can use some of it .
Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement you have bestowed upon me since my initial posting.
