      Morning nesters

How is it going Belle, please check in.

My daughter cut my hair yesterday and its layered shorter at the back and longer at the front. i quite like it. i never tell them how i want my hair cut as they dont listen and if i dont have to pay i dont really care. My other daughter colours my hair so i am very lucky. Today daughter 2 is going to colour my eyebrows and pluck them, now this should be interesting.

I have my new bed in a box delivered and i love it, its amazing what you can buy these days. Still waiting on the dyson but apparently its with the resolutions team who i have not heard from, funny that.

Kensho, i hope you get to the root of your problems. i have an autoimmune problem that i went to a specialist about when i had stopped drinking (could not possibly see anyone when i was drinking) and now it is under control, i have some pills i take when i have a flare up. I cant believe i let it get as bad as i did.

Pauly, that sucks about your boss, it is just so rude. It goes to show what type of person she is and is no reflection on yourself. I am getting annoyed with work, my boss doesnt reply to my emails and when she does she says she is really busy. Im a tad over being ignored and i know she is not pushing me out but it feels like it. Normally a walk fixes my head thankfully.

Cold here but the rain has stopped so will get out for a walk today. Hopefully they will take us to stage 2 restrictions soon, it would be nice to be able to drive down and see mum for mothers day. One would think they are lifted already with the amount of people out and about.

      take care xx

        Good evening Nesters,

Nice day here, sunny & rain free.
My weekend guest likes to get up way too early. She tried waking me at 5:15 this morning but I ignored her until 6 am, geez.

Julia, I’m glad you are stepping away from your addictions. Honestly, you are doing yourself a huge favor. Process your grief now & not later. Hugs to you.

Byrdie, Narilly, Pav, Narilly, Ava & everyone - HELLO!
I would welcome anyone who showed up at my door to cut my hair, haha! I’ll pay you in fresh brown eggs!!! When your short hair cut grows out there’s just nothing you can do to contain, I swear.

Byrdie, I made a really good vegan cinnamon swirl coffee cake today. No decorating required, just a little drizzle of thin white icing on top - yum
It might make me fat but at least it won’t elevate my cholesterol, Lol

Wishing everyone a safe night in the nest!

Kensho - sorry to hear about the possible diagnosis. It sounds serious if it might involve having to move. I hope you're able to get to the bottom of things and feel better in as easy a way as possible.

Pauly - your boss sounds like someone who does not spark joy! Good for you on adopting your Lavitude, but that still must have hurt at least a little to have her not respond. It's possible that it really isn't personal, but it sounds messed up and like something you don't need in your life.

Julia - great job on your days. I hope your broken heart is able to start healing soon, but for now just being in the feelings (instead of masking them) makes a lot of sense. Your pup meant a lot to you and as much as it hurts, feeling all of the grief is one part of the healing process.

Today was a good Saturday. We did an excellent strength training workout at home, made a quick trip (masked) to the farmer's market, got some chores done around the house, and then I got to video chat with 4 of my dearest friends. We all used to work together back in the 90s and became very close, then gradually all moved away (except three of us are in the Pacific NW so still semi-neighbors). It was so fun to catch up with all of them and celebrate one person's birthday. We had originally planned to gather this summer to celebrate her in person but at least for now the video gathering will have to suffice. It was so much fun!

Hellos and waves to Nar, Byrdie, Ava, G, Pav, and everyone else. Hope you're all having good weekends!

                Greetings Nesters,

Looks a bit quiet in the nest today. I hope it’s because everyone has nice weather & maybe getting out for a walk

Still watching my son’s dog & apparently will be until Tuesday. Someone had a change of plans & it wasn’t me, ha ha!
Going to pick up my new sewing machine tomorrow. Since we’ll be about halfway to our daughter’s house we’re going to do a porch visit. Miss seeing my granddaughter all this time. Plus I get to drop off eggs for her & their neighbor. I’m not in a big hurry to see everything reopened, seems too soon especially since there are new cases of the virus still being reported daily here in PA. I think we should be cautious & take our time.

Julia, glad you checked in & to hear your progress. Things will get better, I promise.

Hi Wags b& Byrdie & everyone.

                    Hi, All:

Keep it going, Julia. Rinse and repeat.

Wags - that has been a surprising benefit of this. I have had some virtual meet ups with some groups of old friends I haven't seen it a while, including some college roommates I haven't seen in YEARS. On Friday night we were with some local friends for two hours! I can't believe we stay on that long after I'm on all day at work. I REALLY can't wait to see and hug everyone in person!

My niece came by for a porch visit - I haven't seen her since January so it was good to see her. I hear you, Pauly, about wanting it both ways - I'm just afraid that we'll be putting people at risk if we open open too soon...

Not much to report here, either. The platinum lining in all of this is the nightly dinner with my kids, my husband and me. With both kids in sports and meetings, etc., I honestly think this is the longest sustained stretch of family dinners we've ever had. It has been a lot of fun.

                    Happy SOBER Monday.

Hi Nesters...checking in. Sober is good. I think I have reached my limit on dabbling on the other side. I have been reading here a lot, just haven't had much to write about.

Lav...I have had a Bernina since I think like 1995. I took it in for a checkup last year and apparently it has miles to go in it. It really belongs to my son now (by default) the Fashion Design major. Their lab at school has all Berninas. He drives that thing like a motorcycle. it is amazing how fast he can sew with it, nearly flawlessly.

Work for the new month of clients is finally coming my way. I was getting bored. and it is funny that everytime I want to clean a bathroom (I guess 'want' is not the best word), someone is in it. 2 bathrooms/4 people. I give...

I realized that every time I posted and saw that picture of Piper, it made me sad. So I have updated my avatar to a pic of my pup "Bonnie". (we call her also 'Snoots' for obvious reasons)

                      Happy sober day/week to all.

                        Happy Un Hung Monday everyone!

Today it is raining here which is good since it was so dry. I may buy some plants soon, this year I will be planting more veggies.

Ava, how do you like your bed? I always look at those ads and wonder how the bed would be. I cut my own hair yesterday, it looks ok but all the gray roots are getting harder to cover these days.

I made a whole bunch of curry yesterday- kinda like a curry casserole. I thought I should make a big meal that would last a few days. Well, it lasted one meal, haha. I haven't cooked so much since my kids were little but like you say Pav, the nightly dinner with my kids and husband are great.

Yeah, I miss going to the farmers market Wags, I will definitely be going there on Friday.
Keep going Julia- it will get better.
Lav, my daughter bought a sewing machine last week, a second hand one. She is quite excited about it which is cool.
I have been distance walking with my mom which has been nice.

Hi Byrdie, G, Slo, NS, Ken,Belle, LC, everyone.

                        Don't drink today.

                          Re: Newbies Nest

Hey, all. I’m in the same camp, having stuff closed here on our island is nice. I dread when it opens back up. Now, I am the first to realize that we depend on tourist dollars, but so many visitors and not all of them are respectful of the natural and fragile habitat. My hubs noted that we live next to a rental property, and it sleeps 10 people. It rents by the week. So we are exposed to all those germs from far and wide! Multiply that by all the rental houses and hotels and it’s frightening. They go to the grocery store and fill up with gas and use the same beach accesses as we do. No one is wearing a face mask on the beach, either. I guess I shouldn’t worry about things I can’t change.
I do understand one thing, I can’t drink this virus away. Drinking has done me no favors, I’m so happy to be sober!
Hang in, everyone, we are in this together!

                            Morning nesters

Nar and Pav, i am finding i am bonding so much more with my 2 kids who are at home. Its nice, not that i am cooking much, my son seems to be the cook in the family.

Nar, the bed is great, it just inflates and molds to your own body, i love it. How is the camp site where hubs works? Are there any more cases of covid?

Belle, i still cant look at pics of my mads without tearing up. Carl has been wearing her winter coats and it reminds me of my girl but in a nice way. I love the nickname snoots, she is a cutey. How old is she?

Its getting chilly here, i am pretty happy to be working at home now we are coming into winter. I wear my sleep wear to work and it seems to be working well.

Byrd, im worried about all the people coming out, it is getting busier here and some seem to have forgotten about social distancing. We had 20 new cases yesterday and that was when things had started to settle down.

Lav, I hope you like your new machine, mum has these embroidery machines worth thousands and maybe i might use one one day. i have never been interested in sewing but mum loved it. she is having problems with one of her hands so that has stopped her for the time being.

Well best get to work. Take care xx
