Eloise asked me to say a little bit about my 30 days alcohol free (AF) and any words of wisdom going forward. Well, as many of you know, this is definitely not my first 30 days sober. I’ve been on this hamster wheel of quitting/drinking/quitting/drinking for many years. Have I finally stepped off the wheel and decided to stop this madness once and for all?

 Yes. And here’s why…

I just don’t have time to drink anymore. I’ve filled my days and evenings with healthy activities that don’t leave any room for the bar stool. I’ve started teaching small children how to roller skate on Saturdays. Skating has been a passion of mine since I was in grade school. Those sweet children and their parents don’t deserve a hungover teacher who’s thinking more about her next drink than teaching.

I’ve also started taking Spanish classes, volunteering at local animal sanctuaries, and hiking. My work has become more of a focus. And most importantly, I’ve decided to move to the country – something I’ve wanted to do for a long time but was too drunk and hungover to make it a reality. I've got a lot of work ahead of me to make this happen!

Bottom line is that I can’t do any of these things drunk!

My life is so rich, even after only 30 days sober. I can only imagine what it will be like after 60, 120, 365...

Folks, if I can do this, you definitely can! Trust me!Last edited by rooniferd; March 10, 2015, 08:30 AM.
