    hello everyone

it makes me really happy that my original post has inspired some of you (thanks for bumping Cowboy. gosh i miss you. i miss you all!!).
i am nearly one year and five months sober now. so crazy to say that out loud to myself. but as i said in my post back in July and will say it again, it's worth it. i can understand that this time of year is particularly difficult for almost all of us but make sure to make some time for yourself. i think that self love and self care throughout our journeys to getting sober is absolutely crucial. so, make sure to take care of yourselves this holiday season.
wishing everyone a wonderful new year. and hope you all had a safe and merry christmas.

Hi,well done. I've only just joined and your story is the only one that sounds like mine.never done more than a few weeks. But your words give me more strength than I've ever felt before after my last relapse. Thanks

Today marks nine years of sobriety for me, and it’s a milestone that fills me with immense gratitude and pride. Reflecting on this journey, I remember how daunting and impossible it once seemed to stay sober for even a single year. But here I am, standing tall after nearly a decade of growth and self-discovery.

Staying sober hasn't always been easy. There have been challenges, moments of doubt, and times when the weight of it all felt overwhelming. But through it all, I’ve learned that sobriety is a gift that keeps on giving. It has allowed me to rebuild relationships, pursue my passions, and truly experience life with clarity and purpose.

To anyone who is struggling, remember that it’s okay to have difficult days. What matters is that you keep moving forward, one step at a time. Your journey is your own, and there is no set timeline for healing and growth. Keep believing in yourself, and surround yourself with those who support your path to recovery.

I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come and grateful for the continuous support from my family, friends, and the community here, year after year. Here’s to another year of growth, strength, and living life to its fullest. Stay strong, and know that sobriety is possible and worth it. Thank you for being a part of my journey.

And happy 9 years to me. x

            -Bri
