Yes, I am very fortunate. I am going on day six now AF w/out bac, but it has shipped. I don't know too much about it, just what I have read online. If I can keep going without anything, it will be great but I know there are so many times that I am going to want to drink, especially on weekends when I don't hae my little one or at parties. It is just nice to know there is something that might be able to help. I must say that sleeping has been aweful the last few days. I toss and turn without a few drinks in me! I am trying to remember how I ever lived contently before drinking...I know it happened! Thaniks for the support Hoping!

6 days is amazing. all of us here knows how hard 6 days is to get to. Unfortunately with bac, I do not know much about it either, just what it has done for me and what i have seen it do for others. I do know that it makes me sleep really well. before, if I didnt drink, it would take me at least half an hour to get to sleep but now I can fall asleep within 5 mins and sleep all night. Trust me, life without it is far better, but I know how hard it is to imagine that life but you will be there and you too will be telling others how great it is.

Here I am again at day 3. Still feel horrible from drinking. Got started back on my bac and don't plan on stopping this time! Hoping, good for you to turn down the liquor! That is so encouraging. Don't know if I could have done it! So hard for me to resist drinking when my husband is in the other room drinking every night. I know how good I felt after being sober 15 days and how bad I feel still hungover after 3 days. I hope I can remember that and fight the temptaion even stronger. Thanks, guys, for all your encouraging words! Best to all of you.

Day 8

So I am going on day eight of AF but it has been so hard! Last night was awful. I was in a great mood and then my husband and I got into a fight and I wanted to drink soo bad! We have been fighting since we both stopped drinking. What if the alcohol put rose colored glasses on us? I told him he didn't have to stop drinking just because I did and now I feel like he is resenting me for it. I can't wait for my bac to get here! I am dong this on my own which I think will lay good ground work but I could also use some help. I don't know how I am going to make it through tonight. Another night of uncomfortableness and silence. Tell me this gets better! We were so in love a month ago and it has sharply taken the wrong turn!

SOBS- Hang in there! We are all there and here for eachother. This place feels like a safe haven. Thanks to everyone for posting and being there!

Congrats on day 8! I know its hard but I promise you that there is a reward that is worth sticking it out for. Alcohol makes us think that things are better with it but it is the extreme opposite. It will drive a wedge between you and your husband. I know its hard when each of u seem moody but it is just temporary, soon you will be able to enjoy each other on a whole new level, and be healthier than before. Please make it through tonight, go onto chat there is always a bunch of us on there and it will help, I promise.

Can you take Bac and Campral at the same time? I currently take Campral, but it's not having much affect on my drinking anymore.

Day 13

Well I'm almost to two weeks AF and I am starting to love it! I haven't even recieved my bac yet, so don't know if I will actually take it, but I have been exercising my ass off every day and I think that helps. I did refill my perscription of trazedone to help me sleep at night and really wanted some wine a couple nights ago but I called my husband on my way home and we talked through it. I feel better and better everyday but still can't imagine life completely AF yet. I am just taking it a day at a time. Two weeks first goal, then a month, then a year, etc. Thanks for all the support here! I will check in soon.

Hey K9 (my favourite robot dog btw!! )

I think you'd need specialist medical advice with that. But, out of interest, why continue to take Campral if it doesn't work? And it only works with abstinence, doesn't it? If you can't achieve a period of abstinence for the Campral to work as it should (and I couldn't personally) - and knowing that it doesn't work for everyone even then, why don't you try Baclofen instead (which can start to work while still drinking)?
