I just had to revive this thread because someone downgraded it, I'm assuming one of the mafia. Not that it was ever worth five stars mind you, being that it diverged off the baclofen thread, but the nastiness behind the act is just what I would expect.

Either the mafia, or tu, Petus/Lush. Which I could never imagine.

Again, the thread is worth a point maybe or no points, that that ain't the point.

I assume someone posted then rated 1 and then deleted their post. How else? Pure childishness.

I dont know anything about the "rating system" I assume that when someone likes your thread, that give it a "thumbs up" As for giving it a lower rating, I can see why that would be discouraging. Dont let it get you down Bruun, you have lots of supporters here, and people that need you.:l

I don't know Bruun. It must be related to what you said on my thread. I guess the rating system doesn't necessarily have to do with the content of the thread now, but whether certain people like what you write. My thread was taking hits when I wasn't even present. After the Dork and Zork stuff. Nice. It then took more hits after I was writing in it. This doesn't surprise me with what I'd written. The same thing occured with another member here. Some people posted on her thread and all of a sudden her star rating dropped, even though she hadn't written a word yet. As of last night my rating went from 3.0 (very close to 2), to something a little higher. Either the people who have now started doing all this negative rating, decided they now like the content, or others gave it higher ratings. I don't know or care. It's all become a big game. And one I have no interest in playing.

I don't think it's anything that anybody said. It's like somebody ran through the forum on a one-star mission. The "New here" thread for topamax got hit too. So did the memorial thread for Foamfollower. I think "hit-and-run vandalism" is about right. People were not the targets but maybe the whole forum was. The ratings don't matter anyway. Some of the best threads on this website have no rating at all.

Ah, you all lovlies, thank you for helping me get my angst off tonight. My discouragement had little to do (I think) with the thread downgrading, but just stuff in general - I was flying high feeling good this afternoon, and then it all went to heck. Murph would say it's because I'm not taking gabapentin condoms, I mean prophalatically, however you spell it.

Anyways, I didn't realize my beloved topa friends got hit too, maybe cuz i'm on it, or maybe like you say, just a general EFF U to the meds threads. Why? Why? Do you people who do this own guns? I guess you'd be that guy doing drive by shootings and so its all over now, and you're in jail, thank the gods.

Yes stars are ridiculous in this way, but they are meant to help guide people to threads that may be helpful, not to judge others and hammer them when you're pissed off. Childish.

Maybe we should ask the moderators (oh wait, are all the GD's the mods?) to eliminate the star system since it's just a punishment system...

Hey Bruun,
I am not an everyday poster but I have been lurking throughout the whole shit show that ended with Murphy leaving. I have a couple of things I want to say and then I will probably crawl back into my hole I have been here since January 2010 so I guess I feel like I know many of the people here - or should I say I have read their posts and have conversed with many. I truly don't think that someone that is an everyday contributer to the site has gone around and downgraded these threads. I think it is someone that just wants to keep the drama going.
I would also like it if we could just drop the whole Mob name calling thing as well as the hidden digs. There is no point to it - I know people are frustrtated but it's time to let it go. I appreciate everyone's contributions here but the name calling and negativity is counter productive.
Just my two cents and sorry Bruun if I "hijacked" your thread. Everyone here is a valuable contributer to the overall plan.

You're of course right in theory, but whoever is changing the ratings has an agenda and its not just one person, its half a dozen or more. It takes alot of negative ratings to take down Red's thread for example, which has 22 votes. I put in a five star vote this AM and it didn't move the rating up a bit. That means someone hit it last night with more than one rating and each person can only rate once. Thus, the possy.

And they're only downgrading in the meds section which these folks visit from time to time and they're the ones doing this, IMO.

Also, wasn't aware I had put hidden digs in there. I'm pretty much laying out my opinion on my thread, if nowhere else. If I have, I will make sure they aren't hidden digs in the future but broad proclamations.

If they drop all the star bashing then I'll stop talking about it. If they don't, and I don't feel like it, I'll just stop posting here. I feel like the whole purpose has gone down the toilet anyhow.
