I know I didn't post as much as I would like on your thread. I have always lurked, though.

Thanks so much, red. I always make it a priority to read yours, but, you know, same thing. As a lurker, less poster. You are very introspective, which I appreciate, as I tend to be as well, and you seem to know your own motivation for things, which honestly, is a trait not represented enough in the general population, to my mind.redhead77;1137004 wrote: I am glad to see you are back posting, btw. I was wondering what happened to you. I've always enjoyed your witty writing style.

Let's get it on
I wanted to give this its own post.
I know I was talking about life changes yesterday. Life threw me another one. Today, my mom was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic cancer. Melanoma. Metastasized to one lymph node. A small metastasis, but still, it's in the lymphatic system.
She's 64. Wonderful health. Yoga 3x/week and walks a mile with my Dad every day. Went for a physical 6 months ago and her doctor told her all her numbers were excellent and she was the poster child for healthy aging. She doesn't take a single medication, except occasional antacids. How many 64 year olds can say that?
To the extent that anyone's still reading this, please, refrain from posting about treatments or prognosis or recent advancements or what happened to your cousin and her weird mole or anything like that. I'm not trying to be rude. I just promised my mom I wouldn't look online or talk to anyone about the actual medicine of what's going on. Reading between the lines, it's probably because what's out there doesn't look very good. I just want to respect her wishes.
Anyway, there it is. My mom has cancer.
