          Mario, Lav and Fallen...do you ever worry that you will drink by accident (pick up someone else's drink)? Or that someone will slip you something and you don't realize it's in there? Do you think such an event would derail you? This is my paranoid thinking...it hasn't happened yet and not even close...I may be worrying for nothing (which is usually the case). B

            On the occasions that I have been at parties, I ALWAYS pour my own, and always keep it in my hand. I know that there's people that would think it's a hoot that they slipped me a drink, so I am extremely vigilant. If for some reason my drink has left sight, I will always discreetly sniff it as I bring it up to my mouth. At communion, I always make double sure which is the juice & which is the wine.

            I wouldn't say an event like that would derail me, but I would not be happy about it one bit.
            If for some unknown reason it did happen, I would be very upset to say the least, but I wouldn't consider it a slip because I had no intention of drinking alcohol.
            Also, I don't put myself into those situations very often, which is the best defense.

                Byrdie, it has happened to me, and the solution is to spit it out. If you've already swallowed it, only your thought process will allow it to derail you, and you are stronger than AL.

                      I had been volunteering to walk dogs at our local shelter but it was too much for me emotionally to know they wouldn't all be going to good homes and there was absolutely nothing I could do to change that. They can't all live. I guess I can understand that but it's more than I can handle emotionally (at least right now). :upset:

                            I guess there is some kinda thrill in it? It's beyond me to understand why some people want to hurt others??? It may be that they are so filled with pain that they think hurting someone else will lessen their grief. All I can say is "May God help them" because it's gonna take someone other than me to do it!

                            In other news...a good friend who drinks way too much, asked me to help him get sober. I'm praying he will read the books by Dr. Aimesen and the MWO book that I gave him. He lost himself when he lost his job. He's spent the last year hiding in a bottle. I think he's ready to come out and heal now. At Least I hope so!

                                Byrdie, I don't worry about someone accidently poisoning me - I think they know I would kick their ass :H
                                But that didn't stop my husband from offering me a beer last summer when he arrived with a cooler full. My response was 'ARE YOU F___ING KIDDING ME??? I just walked away, shaking my head. Do you know that damn bottle of beer is still sitting in the garage fridge? The bottom line is - some people are just stupid.
                                btw - he is deathly allergic to shellfish & I've never offered him a shrimp cocktail :H
