    9 types of binge drinkers

De-stress drinker me. And middle aged woman so I fit that slot very neatly. Stupid thing is, I probably have the least stressful life of anyone I know now - I've just got into the habit of stopping my brain working at the end of the day by opening a bottle.

Boredom and Re-bonding is/was me for sure. Oh, it's good to see that in print.
        Thanks for posting it.

I think I have been different ones at different times - hedonistic & anxiety when I started drinking, now boredom

I have seen this research before but I don't identify with any of them .... I was just a drinker who drank from a young age and got addicted - unfortunately ..... huh

Very interesting. I think I was about 6 of those catagories,
though mostly destress. Weird how not drinking leads to a lot
less stress, especially not worrying where the next drink will be.

interesting read. i am the typical d-stress drinker, or was. (before).

now i just do it once in awhile to avoid the stress of complete abstinence.

never was a binge drinker, today i could never consume what i had in past years!!!! :goodjob:

truly i learned much about myself being sober as long as i went.

today i respect booze. i use it sparingly.

I am so defintely the depressed drinker seeking comfort, safety, and security. I've thought a lot about this thread in the last couple of weeks. In order not to relapse I need to find another source of comfort, safety, and security, but can't figure out how.

For me it's de-stress and boredom & depression!
                      Interesting to think about though!

Depressed drinker. I would also drink when happy, sad, any reason and I would drink. Thank god I dont have to do this anymore.
