We had the same cloudy & drizzily kind of day today but bot complaining. The grass & the flowers are happy.
My exciting day included a trip to the supermarket & mushroom farm haha. Feeling sorry for the folks down south dealing with all the flooding.

Mick, I sure hope you have a fun & easy trip. Glad you’re getting away for a while.
Doc may be getting another unplanned lesson tomorrow morning, we’ll see if the trainer actually shows up on a Sunday morning. Glad the rabbits are all settled.

Slo, my daughter told me she took the day off yesterday thinking she was getting a GI virus but today she’s got respiratory symptoms. No matter where you go you will run into these things this time of year. Hope you’re better quickly. Glad the shoe is working & I know I’ve seen galoshes advertised recently - check Amazon, they have everything.

PQ, Congrats on the training session, you did it just right, good for you!
I learned many moons ago that when dealing with Blue Cross always get the provider to order generics for you. The co-pay is pretty cheap.
It’s been in the 70’s with super duper humidity all week thanks to the hurricane nonsense. Hope your weekend is quiet.

hiya ppqp ...how are you doing ? hope all is good ...sounds like work has calmed down a bit .Its my left knee ....both my car and van arent automatic so I have to change gear manually...the van has a 6 speed box so once Im on the motorway its a breeze ..plus it will be strapped up well and I will stop for breaks .If I didnt think I was up to it then I def wouldnt be driving .hope you have a good weekend .

Sounds like your extra effort will really help the childcare department have an easier time of it during the hectic times of day when the children arrive and leave.

I slept 10 hours straight last night! Victory! It’s a good thing, as I’m fighting off a sore throat & congestion -the price I pay for spending time with the snot-nosed grandchildren.

I was wondering about Julie’s dad too, and no news must mean that he’s finally not being sent out to the hospital all the time.
Argyl can enjoy his life despite his lame back legs thanks to the modifications that you made to the back garden, Mick.

My new modified shoe is working well! Only this strange little particular canvas shoe that is low (“barefoot” style) and with a wide toe box works for me though. It’s not going to be enough when Winter hits! I hope they still make pullover “galoshes”.

MAE ALL....boy am I glad it's Friday! The one-on-one training sessions went really well. Everyone is happy with the new program and fond it very easy to use. Even though it takes longer the one-on-one training is the way to go. I showed them on my desk top how it works and they were able to stop me and ask questions as they thought of them. I think that helped them absorb what was being taught. Then they did it themselves on their tablets and had no problem working through it. They had the rest of today and will have all day Monday to play with it, get used to it, and then we go live on Tuesday, Oct 1st. All the comments of how easy it is, how it makes sense, and how they can instantly fix any mistakes they make made me feel that the work I put into it was well worth it.

Slo...gee, did wanting the boss's sister out of office come across? LOL I'm not the only one. I felt very validated after all the training sessions but am glad it's done. Sending out positive vibes that your sister continues her sobriety, I hope she's feeling better about herself. Glad your shoe was finally ready and how nice to make the long drive in your new car. Bet you're still discovering things about it. Whatever I caught is over and I'm back to feeling myself.

Mick...your weather sounds the same as mine, warm but windy. I'm glad you're resting your knee before your trip. Then my brain went to...I wonder which knee it is?...Does he use that leg to drive?...Is the van an automatic or does he have to shift gears? LOL Nice that you could courier the lens back instead of having to drop it off somewhere. Were you able to get to the shops? Good to hear Julie took her Dad out, hadn't heard about him for awhile. Sounds like things have settled down. Thanks for the update on the rabbits, so glad Argyle is one happy little rabbit.

Lav...oh my, I was wondering how things were in Florida, so sad. Just now saw some coverage on the national news. Hope your friends are ok. Doc in training school, finally. Do you take him? Glad to hear he did good, there's hope for him yet. Thanks, now that childcare is looked after I can get back to my work. When we hit 65 in Alberta we get dumped into Senior's Blue Cross. The max we pay for any prescription is $25. Those with supplemental insurance get that covered, I don't have insurance but can handle that. Usually it's $5 or $6, I've only paid the $25 on a one off Rx. As far as the boss's sister...from your lips to god's ears. LOL

Good evening friends,

We had another cloudy & drizzily day here, nothing like the folks are dealing with down south. The last I heard 40 people have lost their lives in this hurricane including a first responder, how sad. Doc had his first obedience training today - something I’ve wanted to start for months! I hope he responds & learns that he cannot continue to drag us around like rag dolls, haha. Seriously though you just can’t have an almost 80 lb dog pulling hard on the leash while you’re trying to walk down steps to take him out. I fear fracturing something, no kidding. If he doesn’t respond to the training then we’re going to have to re-home him. He did very well today so I hope he keeps it up.

a pay as you go healthcare system will bankrupt many people very quickly! I like having an insurance company telling a doctor that they can charge whatever they want but they will only be paid a certain amount!!! In other words - take what you’re given & shut up LOL. Once we hit 65 here we all get turfed onto Medicare but you have to have to have a supplemental insurance. Ours is paid for by YB’s former employer as part of their union contract but most people have to pay for it themselves. So far it’s all worked out pretty well. I definitely hope the boss’s sister finds a new job next year haha!

Slo. Good to hear you finally got your shoe, I truly hope it works out for you. Nice that you were able to make the long drive in your new car too.
I fell a bit behind in my work today but I’ll be finishing off that second pillow tonight. It’s a horse design , cool looking fabric. I’ll post a pic later. Good that your sister has made the turn, long may it last.

Hello everyone and how are we today then? Hopping everyone is doing okay. The weather was pretty good, however it has really turned windy here today. Not done much today come on as my knee is a little bit sore so I will rest it before I go away on Sunday. I am waiting for the courier to pick up my lens to go back for repair comma already spoken to the company it will take about three weeks thank goodness I have got to spare one! As you can see I am doing this on my phone so apologies for any punctuation or grammatical errors. Julie is taking her dad out this afternoon and once the courier has been I will nip down to the shops get some stuff to go away with on Sunday. Rabbits are both doing well Argyle is really doing well considering he cannot move his back legs properly he has certainly got some strength in the front ones. Again without doubt he is one happy Little Rabbit. Apart from that not a lot happening today, I hope everyone has a great weekend

Yes, I agree that the drug manufacturers are making out like bandits with the inflated prices that they sell their drugs for here. Then they will sell the same drug in another country for a fraction of the cost they sell it for here!

The one-on-one training for the new computer program for the childcare providers sounds like the way to go.
Yes, my sister is doing better, and can be relied upon now. She gets so nasty and erratic when she’s drinking! Long may this sober stint last.

Mick, wonderful that you can get away on your trip this weekend. Do you have to go into Manchester to return the lens?

I was able to make the long trip today to pick up my shoes with the left sole built up an extra 1/2” (they’re finally done!), so will try again to get used to walking with a straight posture, and hopefully without hurting the foot too much. Otherwise had acupuncture as well as my medical therapy appointment (the lasers & all that).

MAE ALL...from 30C yesterday to 15C and rainy today, what a swing. Managed to get the procedures and screen shots finished for the childcare staff training. Tomorrow is a Professional Day so the kids are here all day. Same with Monday, it's a stat holiday (National Day for Truth & Reconciliation) for some but not for us so the kids will be here again. That means the childcare staff will be working a full day. We've decided to do a one-on-one training session so a Director will sit in for a staff member while they're with me learning the new system. It's very straight forward and should only take 5-10 minutes at a time. We shall see.

Slo...glad to see you persevered! LOL Sounds like you had a great day yesterday. I love that you're full of hugs and the magic of children. Sounds like your sister is doing ok if she was able to help you out with the driving. Congrats on the new car, a little jealous here.

Mick...sounds like you're positive about heading out on Sunday, good for you. It was one of the new lenses that you're returning right? Work is going really well. Boss and I get along great and he's very cognitive of my work load and is always asking if there's anything I need from him. Such a change from the last A$$ I worked for. LOL Things seem better between the boss and the directors, I think he had his eyes opened on this last employee review go around. He seems to be spending most of his time fighting with the accountant.

Lav...I hope your friends are going to be ok. I was watching what that storm did to Mexico and then they showed pictures of the calm before the storm in Florida. Our new Premiere (boss's sister) is making all kinds of changes to our free provincial health care and a lot of people think she wants to turn it into a pay-as-you-go. You would get a fixed amount of credit for your healthcare and once you used that up you'd have to pay out of pocket. The 2025 provincial election can't come soon enough for me.

e had another day full of clouds & light rain here. Nothing like the beast of a storm that’s heading to Florida’s Gulf coast tonight. I have friends living in that area so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for them. Felt more like summer here, too warm & extra humid.

PQ, sounds like the childcare staff is in for a real eye opening next week, Lol. Oh well!
Our countries need to do a better job negotiating the cost of the most commonly used drugs. The manufacturers are making out like bandits, it’s ridiculous. Hope you can get your Covid shot soon, you don’t want to get infected with that, geez. I’m still working on getting YB to agree to get his done, so damn stubborn. I keep telling him if he wants to get sick, that’s his business but I don’t want to be exposed & don’t want it in the house. I really do hope Pauly thinks to check in here with us so she knows we will listen to anything she needs to say.

We won’t be getting any direct effects of the hurricane but we will be getting more showers & clouds. Thinking about my many friends down in that area. Mother Nature, along with global warming can be extremely intense.

Had such a nice day yesterday hanging out with my daughter & sister and Beckett, Mabel, & Cooper! My heart is full, and I’m full of hugs and the magic of children. My sister helped me to return my rental car, then take me up to pick up my new car; and then we continued on up to visit the grandchildren since we were already halfway there.

My new car is a beauty. So many new technological features! And, I appreciate the more powerful engine than what my last one had.

So sad to hear about Pauly’s Brady. Thanks for the update on our old friend.

MAE ALL...back to summer time weather today 30C/86F and then the wind warnings SW of us made their way into the city. It was windy, but warm. We are yet again transitioning parts of my childcare program to another platform for the childcare staff, because the little Diva's want everything easy. Currently if they check in the wrong child they can't correct it. So now they can make all the mistakes they want and then fix them...they just don't know they'll have to learn a new system by next Tuesday. LOL Be careful what you wish for.

Lav...Health Canada ordered all the pharmacies to destroy any Covid vaccines they had and wait for the new vaccine which they only approved yesterday!!! So now they're waiting for supplies to come in. So everyone is late getting their shots, I would have had mine done by now too. This sore throat/flu/cold whatever it was really affected my breathing. Thankfully it was short lived and only had my normal aches/pains today, breathing back to normal. My health insurance provider has still not authorized my biologic prescriptions. My Dr's office was able to arrange for a free dose (each dose is $4K) from the biologic clinic, which arrived today so the aches/pains should be solved by tomorrow. Thank you for letting us know about Pauly, I've been thinking of her quite often (some of are temps were higher than hers) and wondering how she was doing. So sad to hear that she's now going through another loss.

Slo...oh no, please don't give up on MWO unless you'll keep in touch with the MSG group. I know how frustrating it can be. I have learned to type my post in word and then paste it in here. At least we can still PM each other.

Mick...our skies in the morning have been PINK! which made me think you'd be the one to get some fab pics. I think it's a combination of chinook clouds/BC wildfires and the sunrise. Hello everyone and how are we today then? hope everyone is doing well. Weather over here today is very overcast though it is still dry. I was going to go out with my camera this morning but my knee isn't as clever as I thought it would be so again the brain says no full stop at the moment I am sitting with an ice pack on it the redness is going but the swelling seems to be taking its time. Julie is out with her friends walking. We are supposed to be going away on Sunday that is why I am definitely not pushing my knee. As you can see I am doing this on my phone, with Google Talk to Type and it seems to understand Scottish to a certain extent.

Ppqp sorry to hear you weren't very well, and hope you are on the mend full stop this is the start of the dodgy season for colds viruses now. Take care and look after yourself

Hiya Lav how are you doing today then? Yes I've got to get my flu jab yet. The crops have suffered over years well but it is definitely because of too much rain as opposed to lack of, but irrespective of that it certainly won't help the prices take care have a good day
