Hey TG...popped onto MSG and saw your post about getting back here. Congrats! Knew you could do it. I so relate to work keeping me out of my head! Sorry about the Canadian smoke, it wasn't me.I'm inspired by your post, it was so positive for me. Any insights into your notes (food/supps/health) would be greatly appreciated. Have a good night.

10:30 pm here but felt the need to check in with all of you again. Glad I did too.
PQ, our healthcare system is totally messed up here, needs a major overhaul. But yours really baffles me. Not sure how you manage but you do. I hope your biologic & your appointment gets straightened out soon. Do they allow you to self-inject? It’s confusing honestly. We have had a few downpours but it hasn’t totaled up to much so far. We need more but I know to be careful what I wish for Lol.
TG (Cyn), glad yo found yuor way back here. I’m sorry to be messing with everyone’s heads, it was never my intention. I sure don’t want to see you running yourself ragged working all those hours but I do know the value of keeping our minds engaged. I know I feel better physically & mentally when I stick to a clean diet & keep up with my supplements. I have morning, afternoon & bedtime supps = kinda crazy but they help. find what works best for you & stick with them. We have to help ourselves the best we can, right?
have a good night all!AF since 03/26/09

Afternoon greetings kids!
i’ll be at Walgreens in an hour getting my two vaccines, hope my arm doesn’t fall off (just kidding).
It’s hot, humid & sunny today because summer always comes back in September around here. Only had .25” rain last night but will be getting more tomorrow they say.
Mick, i hope you have a great trip next week. I always thought we would end up taking trips like that but apparently it wasn’t meant to be. Trying to find someone to look after the zoo residents here would be problematic anyway. The driveway looks good & we have moved our vehicles back from the neighbors. Glad to get those cracks sealed up before winter weather arrives.
Hello to Ann, Pie & Cyn, hope you are all OK.
Will check in later.

Turns out the insurance company said no to the RSV vax so I just got the Covid shot, fine by me.
Now I’m hearing tomorrow’s storms could be substantial, they’re talking about hail & tornado risks. I’mm just button everything up & hope for the best. How is everyone doing? Ann, Pie, Cyn - hello! Hopefully Mick is asleep now.AF since 03/26/09

MAE ALL...YAY it's the weekend! We survived the first week of kids back to school, next week all my programs start up. I've had healthy registrations so don't need to cancel any of them. We were sunny today, with the shifting to the south most of the smoke has gone. I don't know if it was all the smoke but I've felt weird all day. Light headed and dizzy at times. Drank lots of water in case it was the start of dehydration, glad I'm home and the boys can figure out dinner. LOL
Mick...sounds like you made the right call with the weather you got. Hope it's all sorted for your trip on Tuesday. The teacher's strike really won't affect me directly, I've already created new programs in the event we need to take the kids full days. It'll just be another reason for the cc director to go crazy with drama.
Lav...yup, I do self inject with an auto injector, like an epi pen. Haven't heard back from anyone so will get on it again on Monday. Good to hear the driveway is done and you can move your vehicles back. I would fall into the exception of paying for the Covid shot, the issue is ordering ahead and booking an appointment at a health services place. Heard the pharmacist say the AB Government is rethinking things and they may be able to offer it after all. I'll wait a couple of weeks to see what happens.
That's all my news for now. Hope everyone has a good evening.....PQ

mae all...how are we doing?hope all is good with everyone. spent most of the day looking after Bonnie yesterday. Went out to unlock her to find her stretched out hyperventilating......then she just went flat ..gave her 6 syringes of water ,then metacam, then cisca pide..the meds are out of date but they are pom meds so you cant buy them .massaged her etc and she came round ..very quiet so I watched her all day...I thought something may have spooked her so I put a trail cam up ....just checked it ...nothing there ..she is bouncing around this morning ...grrr ...animals and kids .This morning going to get the van ready to go away This weekend there is supposed to be a blood moon.
hiya ppqp ...how are you doing? I made the wrong call weather wise yesterday ...it was absolutely glorious ...my friend went up to ywp..he got some cracking pics of the lion cubs.hope you are feeling better today.

Oh! Well hello!! I can't tell you how pleased I am to see you guys back here!
I've been posting intermittently on the Newbies Nest Roll Call, along with regulars abcowboy and Elvis and a few others, and it really helps a lot. I also catch up in person occasionally with the lovely available, which is great.
I've missed the group chat though. Really hope everyone is doing well.
Sending good vibes to all,
Steady

Happy Saturday morning to all!
Sunny & warm here for now, strong storms approaching late this afternoon. There’s only a mild chance of a tornado, Lol
Steady, good to see you! Sounds like yo are doing well. Say Hi to Ava for me & stop in any time.
Mick, I hear you about animals & kids - quick to get sick but also quick to get better. Hope your weekend is peaceful so you are in a good way to start your trip next week.
PQ, the government decided to pay for Covid vaccines for 65+ & for younger with certain health issues. Feeling fine this morning, can’t complain.
Can you get someone to check your BP? Fluctuations can cause light headedness same with our blood sugars if we haven’t eaten for a while. Good to stay hydrated in all cases.
glad. You have your thumb on things at work haha!
Hello to Cyn & Pie, hope you guys are OK.
I’ll let you know what this storm brings us!! Have a good day all.AF since 03/26/09

Happy Sunday morning to everyone. How are we all doing today? Hope all is well. Bonnie is back to her normal self again thank goodness. I played a blinder yesterday. I was cutting the grass away in my own little world and I walked into a metal bar that was sticking out of the side of the shed. It caught me on the forehead and cut me..luckily it missed my eye. Lesson learned.. stay on this planet whilst cutting the grass! Getting the van ready today to go away on Tuesday putting on the necessary on it like the television and the mobile router!!
hiya Steadfast how are you doing?long time no see.hope all is well with you.
Hiya Lav.hows you today then?did you get the storm?loved the offer of the snake..but we have enough of them in this country...mostly in government. I'm growing teasel seeds at the moment. They are good for bringing in little birds to photograph. Hope you have a great day
hiya ppqp how are you doing today then?hope you are ok.As lav says with the dizziness check your blood sugars. I go dizzy now and again and that's exactly what it is .a chocolate bar and I'm as good as new .hope you have a good weekend.
Hiya teegee and pie hope you are both doing okaf since the fourth of July 2012...howzat then America..now proudly marching into year 12

Good Sunday morning all! Still getting rain off & on, yesterday’s storm came in dribs & drabs which is just as well.
Nothing going on around here but I always find something to do to keep me out of trouble.
Mick, sounds like you had luck on your side, maybe you should wear a helmet when cutting grass, Lol. Glad you weren’t terribly injured. I was just in the chicken house but didn’t see that snake, hopefully it found it’s way out, ugh. They really grab your attention!!! Hope you get your van all fitted out nicely for your trip.
Hello to PQ, Pie & Cyn, hope everyone is OK & having a good weekend.
Dave is hanging out in the garage today, parked himself on the recycler can, LOL

MAE ALL...going to be a hot sunny day and then the smoke from BC is moving in this evening. It's also supposed to rain tonight so hoping it won't be too bad. Got out for a haircut this morning, YAY. You can sure tell that summer vacation is over, the traffic has been incredible.
Mick...so glad Bonnie is doing better, I'm also feeling better, thanks. I think the helmet Lav suggested should be more like a hockey goalie's mask. Cover your entire face, just in case. Glad you didn't do too much damage. I see you've got your priorities in order when it comes to the van, TV & Router is a must!
Steady...what a nice post. Never thought we'd be back but I too am glad we are.
Lav...glad there was only a mild chance of a tornado yesterday. I have never had an issue with BP. I was due for my biologic injection, which I took when I got home and it seemed to clear up whatever was going on. I think it was the accumulated heat and smoke over those last couple of days. All's good.I read back and still didn't see anything about the snake in the chicken coop. It's been awhile since you've had one, hasn't it? Dave always looks like he's up to something. LOL
Hi to TG, Pie and Pam. Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday....PQ

PQ, jealous of your haircut, must do the same this week for sure, Lol
I had posted a video on a message to Ted & Pie but couldn’t download it here. It was the very first of the summer. Don’t know where they’ve been iding but they always seem to show up when you least expect. This one was a full grown 5+ ft Pennsylvania black snake, ugh, ugh, ugh.
Ted, also meant to say I’m glad Bonnie is feeling better!!
I guess we had an inch & a half of rain yesterday & overnight, enough for now.
it’s cooler & pleasant now, sitting outside at the moment.

Good morning all how are we doing today? Hope everyone is doing well at the start of a new week. It is definitely a crisp autumn morning, I have just been to the van checking the heating system and it works. Here's a laugh for you. We were supposed to get blood moon last night and I was going to take some photographs of it. So I asked Julie to have a quick look on the internet and see what time it was scheduled for stop her reply was between 11 p.m. and 12 56 am so I set my camera up on the tripod with all the bits and pieces and remorts that go with it. As we were having tea at about seven o'clock I knew this a redness in the sky and remarked on it. From 11 pm till about 12 30 am I watching the moon waiting for it to go red. Alas did not do such a thing, I then checked on information Julie had given me to find out she had been looking at the times in India and that the red sky I saw at 7 pm was in actual fact the moon in Britain. Got some lovely pictures of a yellow moon!
hiya ppqp glad the jab did the trick and that you are ok.happy haircut too.lets see what Monday brings you
hiya lav how are you doing? Hope all is well with you. I started building my wildlife garden yesterday. Basically up in the corner before you go out of the back gate I am going to put a border in and plant it will wildflowers etc teasels poppies whatever I've got hopefully I can bring the small birds in to feed and photograph I've already done quite good bringing a variety of smaller birds in but it takes time and they have got to realize that there is a food source now here's long as it doesn't bring in any black snakes!!!hope you have a good day.
Hiya teegee how are things with you? Hope all is well and that you are looking after yourself as well as working.
Good morning steady ..how are things with you?
Hiya pie. How is the bite and the dog fostering

Mae all, sorry to be out of touch… somehow I managed to get a bug (even though wearing a mask at work), so I’ve really been down and out for the last few days… just a garden-variety cold, but it took a toll… I am feeling better today, but still kind of weak, which is strange for me. Missed work Saturday and Sunday (which was actually a nice break.)
I’ve been having some serious life reflections while I am sitting here in my apartment recuperating… more on that later, but yesterday I had a long phone call with a dear friend in Minnesota (where I used to live) who has a tumor in her brain. We have been friends for decades - (when I was a professional singer, she was my pianist - we were a duo, traveling and studying together.) She has known about this tumor for several months, and the docs said to ‘wait and see’ but now she is having headaches. So, soon I will go up to MN to be with her for whatever the next step is in getting a ‘sample’ to see what the tumor consists of. This is sobering stuff, and of course makes me think about how I should spend my remaining years (I’m 69, so I’m in my 70th year!!!)
Anyway, I think I will stop the Trader Joe’s job… I was already thinking that when vaccines were no longer mandated… do I really want to work in close quarters with employees and patrons who are unvaccinated? No! I still have neural issues from other year’s Covid infections, so I think I’ll be bowing out of that workforce soon. And then I’ll be available to my friend for her health journey…
Sorry for the long post, but that’s it for me at the moment. (Ted, I also sat up watching for the red moon… all I saw was a golden full moon, but it was lovely…)
Cheers and best wishes to all. Thank you for continuing to be here…
TG
