Hey Mick & everyone!

We got a whopping .25” of rain overnight, haha better than nothing. Cloudy here so maybe more rain to come, we need it badly.
Glad you made it home safely under difficult conditions Mick. I don’t know why anyone in any country would give Trump a minute of their time. I just don’t see the value in anyone kissing his A$$. Please just keep him as long as you can LOL

I don’t seem to be in the mood to do much here today, oh well. I guess every day doesn’t need to be especially fulfilling. I am never bored though, trust me. Hellos to PQ, Cyn & Pie.

Quiet day here with the boss gone and the cc director on a 2hr zoom meeting. Sunny and hot and forecast for the BBQ on Saturday looks good. Nothing else going on.

PQ, you know how greedy I am LOL. I want enough rain to catch us up to ‘normal’, whatever that is.
We’re just hearing that 3 police officers were killed & 2 more seriously wounded in York county this afternoon. That area is west of us & pretty much rural. They haven’t said yet what happened except that they were serving an arrest warrant. I guess the farmer thought differently. Such a sad situation.

PQ, glad you had a decent day, you deserve one once in a while Lol
How many people show up for the BBQ? Good to have decent weather for the event.

We had 230 rsvp's so we're banking on 200. Boss said at the board meeting this morning he heard one community association had 200 people respond and 1200 showed up, EGAD! This is a members & guests only event and we don't advertise it on social media. I think the boss got a little nervous. LOL

Good morning all how are we today? Hope everyone is doing well. We put the heating on last night for the first time it is oil heating never used that before but works perfectly apart from one radiator which needs sorting. Slept pretty well last night, got a few jobs to do this morning firstly got to go over and pick Bonnie up and then Julie and Amy are meeting up with Eloise and going shopping this seems to be a weekly According us get the shopping done and then go for a coffee. I've put a few little jobs to do so I'll make a start on them. It's nice to go away but even nicer to come home it's still hasn't really sunk in that we live here now I guess it will take time. Hope everyone is doing okay. We need to get a water filter fitted onto the taps because the water here is very hard you can actually taste the chemicals in the water. At the moment we are buying bottled water we have got the filter but the pipes under the sink need cutting because they are copper pipes not plastic push fits. Clouds to sun & 80 degrees here today - a bit too warm for me but oh well.
we rans some errands earlier & now I’m about to put together a dairt free pizza on a sourdough crust, yum.

Mick, that’s so nice your girls can catch up weekly, sounds perfect to me. I remember moving in here & wondering whose house it was, haha. We we had this place built but it surely did not feel like ours. It does take time to feel right! Our well water is fine unless you’re me & allergic to the high chromium levels. We filter drinking water, makes it just fine. Good luck with that project.

MAE ALL...sunny and warm day here, but a little windy. Hope there's not a lot of wind on Saturday. Reconciled affordability grants and subsidy for the kids who came to summer camp. We ended up with a negative balance after the cc director submitted the claims for July & August. Discussed with the boss what I think she's doing wrong and he agreed. Both the boss and myself are taking the training course on claim submissions so we can know what is being said and what the cc director is hearing. Geeze

Mick...I'm sure Bonnie is glad to see you but it looks like she was doing just fine with Amy. Yes, it may take awhile for it to feel like home, but you'll get there. Glad your sleep was good, now just don't overdo it. With renting the commercial kitchen and having childcare onsite, there's a lot of rules to comply with. We have a pest control company that monitors for mice etc. and inspects our sites weekly. Asked him if he could look at an inground wasps nest we discovered in the community garden and he swung by and removed it, just like that. The wasps are very protective this time of year.

Lav... I've decided on comfort food tonight. Baked mac & chees, garden salad and garlic toast. I hope we don't get 1200 as well! I actually left earlier today to make up for the extra time I worked on Tuesday. LOL CC Director and boss have one more assistant director job seeker to interview and then they'll make a decision. This ought to be interesting!
