Greetings from Iceland!
We had a long but fairly pleasant trip. We’ve been out to walk around a bit & had some tasty soup in bread bowls for lunch. Just unpacking now & resting up a bit. Somehow my daughter go me back on FB with a new email address, haha. Thought you’d all be a bit surprised. That means I can get back on Messenger too I believe. I’ll be testing that out soon, stand by.

Mick, still busy I see. We have brick layer at the house today beginning to build the new hearth in the basement. Just as glad I’m not there, Lol

Hi Guys...left early today as I got stuck yesterday waiting for a contractor to finish what he was doing, and of course I was the only there so I left early today. So this has been bugging me since Tuesday. Boss called me to ask me how I was doing and I said fine. Back story, the accountant asked boss to get one of the instructors to cash a May & June cheque that hasn't cleared. She said she'd check it out. On Tuesday he said guess where I found the cheques and I said in my desk. Normally I clip their cheques to their attendance sheets but the Spring program ended and the instructor was going out of the country and said she'd get them when she was back in September. I forgot all about them A - Keeping cheques that long is not something I would normally do, B - I was busy sorting out the cc director's claiming errors and reconciling summer day camps and C - The Instructor could have asked for them. Boss was concerned it was the start of a cognitive issues (I am turning 70). When he first started this job he had to let one of the childcare staff go because she developed dimension and it was getting bad. I said it's nothing like that, there was a lot happening and now that the assistant cc director is onboard, things have changed for the better with me being able to give up some of that responsibility. He said good, he figured as much and he's sorry if he offended me. One of these days you're going to come to me and say you just can't do it anymore and I'm so glad it's not now. I understand where he was coming from but I thought F%CK what did you expect. Just had to get that out of my mind so I can let it go.

Lav...I was reading a post from someone on FB and it started with "I don't care if the FB police ban my account for 30 days, this is how I feel about...." I thought, I wonder when Lav got banned, has it been 30 days? Guess it doesn't matter since succeeded in a workaround. Have a great time in Iceland and take lots of pics.

Mick...did the oil man show? Isn't this day 3? LOL I'm glad your foot is feeling better. Doesn't look like the teacher's will reach an agreement with the government. They both walked out of talks on Tuesday, they're miles apart. I'm assuming nothing will happen till Oct 27th when the government resumes and they'll just legislate the teachers back to work with no changes. That would be the worst scenario.

hiya all....how are we doing today then? hope everyone is ok ...just been in the garden in my wee wildlife bit putting in a mini pond for the birds.it also will act as a reflection pool.just got to let it settle down before I finish it off .Still got pf in my left foot its annoying as well as painful.

hiya ppqp...yep the oil man turned up yesterday pm ..thats us got the winter supply ...I think ...we havent used oil before .I think your boss has got a fkn nerve. how dare he come up with crap like that..so ..you are nearly 70 ,so am I ,so is Lav it doesnt mean we are fruit loops or going doolalley. perhaps if he did a bit more instead of abdicating ,it would help .how does he know the day will come when you say you cant do it ..is he some sort of medical wizard .Are the schools shut now because of the strike?Friday today the weekend is yours ..have a good one .

Wow it is taking a while for your foot to heal. Have you had it before? The mini pond/reflection pool sounds cool. Can't wait to see some pics once it's finished. Glad the oil man showed up, I'd have no idea how to use oil to heat the house, good luck. I think the reason I shared what the boss said was to get that exact reaction from you. I really appreciate it and glad we're on the same page. Writing it out here did help, I haven't thought about it since. One of the tricks to get rid of the booze craving can be applied to all kinds of things. Yup, the schools have been closed for 2 weeks now and week 3 starts on Monday. The following week they'll probably be legislated back to work. What a mess. Seems like brother (boss) and sister (premiere) are pretty much alike.

Although it's the weekend I'm over at the community garden tomorrow morning. It's time for the Fall Clean Up and put the garden to bed. I'll be acting in a supervising role LOL but if it's anything like last year it'll only take about an hour and a half to get everything put away. We have the possibility of a rare October Thunderstorm tonight, that would be fun. Otherwise it'll be a quiet weekend just getting ready for winter, you know changing the wiper washer fluid, finding the scraper and electrical extension cord. This year I promise to do it before there's any more snow.

Good morning all and how are we doing today then hope everyone is okay not sure where everyone is posting today because lav no longer on Facebook again. Yet again something has gone wrong so she is no longer there at the moment. Pouring down with rain here, Julie has just taken her sister-in-law into scunthorpe to catch the train. They spent last night working out flights and where we're going to stay when we go to Italy next August for her nephews wedding. He is getting married in Verona in Italy so we are making a holiday of it and instead of just three days we are making it 14. We have booked flights etc and also the hotels for when we go stay in Verona for a couple of nights then to Florence for four nights where we are worked out places we can go by train like Pisa Sorrento and Venice. Then we move on to Rome where we are spending four nights there in a hotel which has a rooftop garden overlooking the city of Rome. Then fly home. We are also in the process of booking a safari holiday in South Africa in either April or may but quite a few of them are already booked up believe it or not. Not a lot happening here today resting my foot plus the weather is against me for going out doing anything full stop hope everyone has a great day take care look after yourself

Sorry I haven’t been around much, took a while to catch up with myself. I was so happy when my daughter grabbed my phone on the plane & made me a new FB page but I think those evil people figured it out & threw me off again. Can’t win for losing with FB I guess.
Sounds like everyone is basically OK. I will dig in some more tomorrow. Just wanted to check in this afternoon.

Good morning all how are we doing today then question mark hope everyone is doing well. Very windy over here today the idea of chopping down trees is definitely a non-starter today. Resting my foot I used a foot massage machine on it on Saturday and was definitely the worst move I made. I ended up in agony.it has eased off now. Afternoon greetings to everyone!

60 degrees & sunny at the moment but it has been frosty the past few nights. Best of both worlds I guess, lol
Went & got myself a haircut cut today so I feel better. Not too much on my to do list so being kinda lazy & that’s fine with me.

Mick, I don’t think there are any quick cures for foot problems. Sticking with resting it, icing it when necessary & ibuprofen for now is probably your best bet.
PQ, Pie & Cyn, hope you are all well & having. A good Monday.

Hi Guys...I was just wiped after the celebration of life on Saturday. Did nothing on Sunday but rest and felt better today. I think having my biologic delayed had an affect.

Kathy...you've been banned again I see. WTH Maybe your new facebook page should have had your Lav name on it. Oh well. Are you and Mick back to chatting on WhatsApp?

Mick...sorry your foot is still giving you problems. Hope the specialist can help in some way. Your travel plans sound wonderful, no slowing you two down.
