Hello everyone!

Gorgeous sunny morning here again. I'm rushing off to work but thought I'd get the thread going. I'm glad to have the work in these dodgy times, and I get to cycle there in the beautiful spring sunshine and have Chinese food tonight as my end-of-the-week treat. What could be better than that?

(DG, I hope you're feeling better. I know what you mean about having to "achieve" when hungover. But now you don't have to - stay in bed! Watch ice skating!)

Morning early birds! It's dark yet...but I do hope we get some of your lovely sunshine, Marshy. Pedaling to work and a yummy reward afterward sounds like a super way to start and end the day. I'm hosting a family event and will likely be rushing around between now and the time they arrive. Funny, I seem to get excited over the idea of doing something like this...but when the actual day comes around I think "why have I signed up for this?" It is ALWAYS more work than I think it will be. Oh well. I'd better get myself in gear...will try to squeeze in a short run to "energize." Hope your day is a good one! :h

I feel Great today- no hangover- and I will enjoy my first alcohol freee trip in ages.

Morning everyone

Lovely sunny spring day here too - lots to catch up on today, Washing, ironing, taking my daughter to a party etc etc - so much easier to do without a hangover!! It was my birthday (38!!!) during the week, but I didn't drink, although Mr Sausage broke his AF Lent resolution (again!) with a glass of champagne but it didn't bother me - I drank rose sparkling AF drink which was pleasant. No real news, really think i'm running out of stuff to write - my life isn't that interesting!! however I remain as committed as ever!

Will drop back later - have a great AF day / weekend everone!

Marshy, thanks for starting us off today..I too have to work today, but greatful to have a job to go to as so many here in the Northeast are either on reduced hours or not working at all....guess it doesn't give me much to complain about, although a "lounging" day sounds real good at this point....tomorrow will be filled with the usual, groceries, laundry, housework..ho hum....Gee, last year at this time we were planning our trip to Italy...seems like such a long time ago.....

Have a meeting at 10:00 so much hustle. I actually slept until 7:15 this morning!! Unheard of.

Having son's birthday dinner today. He wants steak and artichokes.

Good morning all, it is going to be warm (in the 50's, F) and sunny here today so I will be out on the bicycle! Yesterday it was cold, again, and I ate too much chocolate, and stayed in my warm house. What a wimp I can be!

Marshy, I would love to bicycle in London with you! What kind of bicycle do you have?

Sausage, good for you!!! You have really settled into a good place, you sound so sure of yourself and of how to handle these alcohol-related situations.

Hi Gyco, Kirova, Charlee, Mary, Greenie, Cindi, Mo... is that everyone? I rarely do that, very difficult not to miss someone!

Anyhow, I do hope everyone has a great weekend... I must visit Mother but will get it done soon, and with a minimum of angst, etc.

Sausage--did I miss your birthday??? Happy belated birthday!!!! You sound great! :l

Wow, everyone is up early, well, not everyone! The weather here looks gorgeous as well, seems to do wonders for the mood! I'm going to ignore the growing piles of laundry, mail and dishes, and go to an auction this morning. I don't need anything, and shouldn't spend any money, but that has never stopped me before! I love auctions. All that work will keep. After the busy day yesterday, I just need a "me" day.

The calves survived their "grain overload". There is still a chance they will "founder" but only time will tell.

Buffy has a few new names after she escaped from the house as I was hurrying to get to my meeting. She absolutely does not do "COME". She wouldn't go in the house, she loves to be chased. I'm sure if anyone could have been watching it would have been quite entertaining. But I was NOT AMUSED!

The meeting about action against youth drinking was really interesting. I have been invited to attend a workshop next month called: "Communities mobilizing for change on alcohol." I really think it is a matter of changing people's mindsets (if that is possible) to the fact that underage drinking is simply unacceptable. Not--well, I did it, my kid's bound to do it too! I still can't believe it is me doing this! I'm not sure what it could do to some of my friendships-they will continue to think I've lost my mind I guess.

Hi All: I just had a drinking thought...no reason for it. I thought I'd come here & be rid of it. I think I'll get out the vacuum cleaner...that'll help (vacuuming could be my other addiction). Anyhow, I won't drink! Mary

You can get through it ... Mary. Although vacuuming gives me the desire to drink. I cannot stand how loud the thing is and it really agitates me. Thank God for mainly hardwood flooring throughout the house

We went out for Chinese food last night and it was very good!

It is pouring with rain today so we won't be doing much of anything today; which is fine by me really. I feel kind of lazy and tired.
