Congratulations Lav. Can you tell us the changes that being AF has made in your life on a daily basis? Some of us need to hear the advantages.

Fiday evening here. Accomplished house cleaning after work and went to a special church service for Easter - a little early but it was lovely.

Am going out for dinner tonight, fish only. I am reading a cute book and will just enjoy having a cozy evening. I am so grateful that I am AF and intend on staying that way tonight. It is just a peaceful feeling to know that I will sleep well, wake up feeling good, and enjoy my Saturday with no regrets. This kind of habit is one I want to keep.

Red, like you I'm enjoying the inner peace & calm from knowing that I AM in charge again.
I know I will sleep well, I know I will wake feeling good. No more worries about the stupid things I did or said, no more worries about destroying my health & my future with AL. Knowing that I am fully available to my family when needed. I have the freedom to do anything I want, any time I want I am happy, relaxed & most grateful - what more could a girl want Just keep marching forward, you'll never be sorry!

We need to start thinking about a name for our April group - any ideas?????

Good morning Marchers

You put it so well Lav, what more could anyone ask for. AF is a wonderful way to live your life.

Just a quick check in. Hockey is over but my daughter still needs to do her horse so off to look after him.

I am off to New York tomorrow with both teenage daughters for 5 days so wont get to check in for a while. Not worried about being AF as hubby wont be with us and teenagers are too young to drink so Al wont even be on the menu!!!

Thanks Rustop, I plan to have an AF Saturday.

Grateful today to wake up feeling healthy and rested. Continued plans for my birthday and will spend the day with friends. No alcohol for me. At all. I have made up my mind that I cannot drink now that I will be in my 50's. So, it is nice that I am committed to not struggle with "maybe one, maybe this time, it won't hurt, etc." :upset:

Reading the posts on Just Starting and individuals struggling with staying AF even 24 hours breaks my heart. I know how it feels and it stinks. Plus, it is so scary. It is literally life and death for so many of us, and many of us disappear off this site, never to be heard from again. Even on this thread, we are missing several from a couple of months ago, and I know that is not good. Part of the journey for all of us is being here to help others, in that way we also help ourselves.

I am having a hard time thinking of A words for the April thread. Come on now, let's get some ideas started. Astounding April, April Allies, Action in April, AF April, A+ April, .....help.

So far March has been my best month in a while. I drank one day, and it was horrible. But only one day. My plan is to drink ZERO days in April and beyond, but I have to take it ODAT. I will be keeping in my mind the memory of my last time drinking. It was typical but memorable. Not a pattern I want for the rest of my life. Turning 50 just makes me realize that I am in the second half of my life, I have wisdom, experience and want and need to use it to have as few regrets as possible. I am not being morbid, but death is in my future, as it is in all of our lives. I want to be able to say at the end of my life that I did the best I could. I do not want any more alcohol regrets, at all.

What I do want is honesty, integrity, trust, respect, and most important love. We are here to love above all else and to have relationships with others. Alcohol gets in the way of having the best relationships we can. Alcohol separates us from our best self.

All the individuals on this site with long term sobriety have such growth, richer relationships with themselves and others. They are living lives of beauty and I want that so much. So, today I commit to being AF.

Red, keep marching with all the resolve you have today & you will do well! Keep thinking positively, it really helps. We can't change the BS of our past but we can takes steps to be sure we don't repeat the same mistakes

Well, today I must get outside & get some things done! Spent the entire day yesterday partying (in my head)!! Had a great day though!
